It was announced that Ashworths condition remains unchanged from what was announced this morning,he is in the best place and recieving the very best of care from the medical team at Hull.A tribute was also paid to the track side medical team at Scunthorpe for their treatment of Ricky and the speed in which he was transfered to the local A&E.Over the next 24-48hrs Ricky will under go a medical precedure that will aid him to come out of his coma, when theres something to annouce Berwick will do it via their website.

Cracking meeting I saw tonight, not a massive amount of passing but the racing was always close as was the scoreline so it was exciting stuff.Edinburgh looked well in command right up to half way where they lead 22-26 but two crucial 5-1s in Ht9 & 10 not only got Berwick back into the meeting but into the lead,a lead they were never to surrender.Infact but for a couple of retirements,Wethers Ht3 while on a 5-1 and Barret while in scoring position in Ht14,though in Barrets case when you leave a puddle of fuel at the start line like he did your bound to be in a bit of bother.

All in all a very enjoyable nights speedway.

Bellgo had been smoking in his previous ride, obviosly doing no harm. Very hard but fair riding on a a wide track by Smith & Ashworth but over shadowed by the curtailment of the meeting. Best wishes to Ricky & his family. It looked like a simple lock up that catapulted him over the handlebars, twisting in mid air.

Didn't put it my post last night, but I was pleasantly surprised as to how good the crowd looked last night, hopefully that would've swelled the Ben Fund collection that took place. Certainly when the buckets came by me they looked pretty full.

Very pleased for the Bandits and their supporters. B4E tells me the SBF buckets were brimming with cash. Nice one!

Definitely one of the best gates I have seen at Berwick and very encouraging to see. I also noted posters all over the town, another sign of the significant efforts made by,the promotion.

Not much passing but still entertaining, Bellago especially impressive.

Great news to hear that you had a better attendance last night, and well done to the promotion for promoting (i.e posters around town), it obviously helped. It's something the promotion at King's Lynn spend a lot of time doing, and pays substantial dividends at the turnstiles. Many a time I've spoken to people who are holidaying in nearby Hunstanton, or even father afield, like Cromer or Skegness, who have either see roadside advertising when passing through to their holiday destination, or in a lot of cases have found leaflets in the Tourist Information Centres, and Hotel Lobbies, and as a result have come along for something to do in the evening. The majority of those people haven't been speedway people, but just looked on it as a different sort of night out, particularly with theatre prices being so expensive these days, and usually for second rate shows. Whether they've ever followed it up by attending their local track when they get home, I don't know, but it would be nice to think they did. Even if an extra ten people turned up every week as a result of the advertising, over the course of a season, that's enough extra revenue to cover a bill or two. With regards to your comment about not much passing but entertaining, that's good news too. Of course we all would like to see great racing with lots of passing, but at the end of the day it's important that a speedway track remains open and viable, the quality of the racing is of secondary importance, providing those other than us hardcore fans will understand that too. Towns & Cities are losing to many of their entertainment facilities, and if we're not careful, they'll be nothing left for people to do, other than sit in front of their PC's etc., a direction a lot of the younger generation already seem to be heading in. Okay enough waffle from me, I'm off to support the King's Lynn 'Young Stars' at Mildenhall this afternoon. We've got a seriously depleted team, but hey, we'll probably get whalloped, but it doesn't matter a good crowd turns up, and we see some safe and interesting racing. Win, lose or draw it doesn't matter, it's an afternoon/evening at the speedway. Finally, I once again send all my best wishes to simply EVERYBODY especially to those close to Ricky and himself, that when he's woken up, that it will be onwards and upwards for him, no matter how long it takes. I'll be thinking of him this afternoon, whilst I watch others risking danger, all in the name of entertainment for us punters.

Will take a point from that one.

chucked the win away after being up then having a poor run of heats in the middle of the meeting but at least we never came away with nothing.

Good to see Tabaka back to form as well after being poor for the last few weeks.

Great point you make about the posters, especially valid where teams are in holiday areas. You're right, people are looking for something different to do and I know from my current line of work that people on holiday are more likely to change their habits and try something different/new.

What chance Possil in Glasgow becoming a holiday destination? :o

For those of you who aren't aware yet, or haven't been onto the official site, the Ben Fund collection last Saturday night raised £1541-90.A fantastic effort from the Berwick and Edinburgh fans, and those who were there to support neither. :approve:

Paul Ackroyd is so appreciative of the effort he will travel to Berwick on Saturday night to offer personal thanks to the crowd.

Bandits' David Bellego has been drafted into the meeting to replace Vladimir Borudulin, which should make it a lively evening.

Practice is 11.30 til 1.30 -- admission free, but Ricky Ashworth wristbands will be available in return for a donation.

Brilliant, hopefully there are a lot of the Monarchs in attendance too.

Fantastic that everyone gave so generously.
