keyham
When the KIDS go home and say they had a great time with Neville and laugh and a joke with Mike on the mic, and that made them feel special and can we go next week. Guess what ....its working....Yes our future spectators who dont know or are not interested in filling in a programme, they want to watch the bikes and Neville the Devil and Mike do their stuff, thats fine in our books. Put it this way if you dont want to listen pretend its the wife giving you a rollicking, bet you dont hear a word of that, talk to people around you and interact a bit more, enjoy life, you could end up like me, then you would have something to complain about.
Lord Antebellum
This thread appears to have wandered a bit off Mikkel Bech? Good luck to the lad on Saturday at Berwick in his World Under-21 Final.
Najjer
DANISH sensation Mikkel Bech has turned his back on a hefty pay-day to help keep Plymouth Devils in the Premier League play-offs race, Herald Sport has learned. Bech, 17, already a world cup winner with Denmark, was due to ride in Germany next Saturday, when Devils take on southwest rivals Somerset Rebels at home next Saturday. Confirmed no Bech on Saturday night... oh dear oh dear. Edited August 6, 2013 by Najjer
keyham
This report in the Herald is very true, except the fact is the meeting he would of missed was Redcar this Saturday just gone & not next Saturday V Somerset. They got the dates and days wrong. So when they say "Mikkel Bech has turned his back on a hefty pay-day" This refered to last meeting He will definitely miss the home meeting V Somerset next Saturday as he is riding in the 2nd round of the World U21 championship at Berwick but he will ride for us at Somerset the previous night. Redcar @ home ....yes.....completed Somerset AWAY......yes Somerset @ home...No @ World U21

Devilforever
my god I thought this post was about Mikkel, seems some are always ready to find fault with the Plymouth set up. Just look at what we have achieved in one short season, yes we have made mistakes but we are only human and most visiting supporters are very envious of our set up. As to slagging off Mike on the mic, give the guy a break, he isntt a professional but is very passionate and is a really nice guy, you only have to go up and talk to him and he is always ready to listen, after what we have had on the mic for the last 7 years believe you me he is like a breath of fresh air. There are lots of exciting things in the pipeline, some of which wont please everyone but that's life as long as we have a good team and dedicated support that's what cocunts, so formerdevil and opinionated you are certainly entitled to your views but you are in the minority thank goodness
EnglishRoundabout
Hi guys. Here you loud and clear. I always welcome supporters to the track by name. ie Formerlion. At least 5 current and new get a shout. Pressure? No mate. Thats for riders and managers. I read the forums and take on board what is said. Some good ideas from oponiated however I don't want to repeat what is written in programmes or speedway star. I will have to give you a shout when i'm next there then! ancient mariner
So now we know http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Danish-speedway-superstar-Mikkel-Bech-officially/story-19649494-detail/story.html I for one am doing the old and infirm equivalent of cartwheels. What strikes me even more than his scoring is the joy with which he approaches his speedway. It's so clearly what he enjoys doing and it comes across in everything he does. The Devils promotion is to be congratulated for its bold decision to introduce Mikkel to UK speedway.
JCookie
It might pay off in time but he's not that special yet.
Lord Antebellum
It might pay off in time but he's not that special yet. Some folk are pretty hard to please. I'm certainly enjoying watching him, and if he's "not that special" I wonder why he was a World Team Cup winner and third in the World U-21 title last season? lionking
Come on this bloke surely can't be worse then Chris Popple at Leicester ?? Hated by 95% of the crowd So Lewy, can you provide the link to the discussions regarding signing Mikkel? Any further mention of me being involved with the former promotion or any thing to do with the incidents from last night will result in legal action. You are 100% out of order. All I have done is outline my concerns regarding certain riders and presenters. I raised concerns early on about Kling and Schramm. So who was right? Both have since moved on, and the management even acknowledged they had been looking for replacements for a while before. So they were obviously thinking the same as I was! Ask those that were at Leicester early in the season,They were all for getting rid of Trigger for his inept display that night, and a few since. I have watched racing at every possible level and watched 1000's of meetings all over the World. Without any doubts at all, the meeting presentations at the SBA are the worst I have come across. Baxendale is clueless. I like the idea of the riders coming to the start line, without their helmets on. However,as they leave the pits, the riders should be introduced individually instead of ''here come Witches' or whoever. Then a little of each riders background instead of 'No1 Ben Barker', No2 ... and so on. The presenter is there to keep us all up to date with latest results from around the country, when and where the Devils riders have been since the last meeting, etc. So what does Baxendale do? Hang over the fence to shout at his mates in the crowd and lark around on the centre green. It makes the club look very amateurish. For all the good work behind the scenes, his actions undo a lot of it.The whole show falls flat because he doesn't know how to present. Oh, and why should I go to another track when I live within 0.5 mile of the the SBA? I DO want the best for Plymouth Speedway, These are my opinions, you don't like them? Fair enough, Im not that bothered to be honest. Put me on your ignore list and you wont have to make spurious comments like you have here. If the management do not want to reply to my comments, made in very good faith, then fair enough, that's their prerogative. I DO NOT have any agenda as others have said, I only want the best for the club, however there is room for improvement
