Oh Dear, Lee Guilty Of Drug Possession

Recommended Posts

Im sure many of us have had relationship break ups,and other issues in our private lives, yet we know its wrong to turn to drugs to find some kind of solice.Giving his history,it appears Mr Lee doesnt learn from his past.

We all break the law - dont we?? - using the office photocopier - and telephone - and internet, stealing a paper clip, straying across private land to take a short cut, smoking under age, carrying 3 people in a 2 people car, starting speedway bike on the pavement. Those are some of mine - nobody else done anything?

He took Drugs - that is illegal and wrong. END OF!!!

Oh - and since when do you get Fined up for drinking a couple of pints?

I may be a bit pedantic here, but I see from the "Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band " thread, that one of your favourites seems to be Elvis Presley.

Admired by millions, yet he was hardly virtuous when it came to this kind of thing was he?

There seems some remarkable hypocrisy in replies that condemn Michael Lee. He broke the law, he was caught, he was fined. That should be the end of the matter. Sadly, the chattering class among BSF members appear to enjoy pillorying others even when they are caught and been punished in law.

It's time to move on and leave Michael Lee to live his life as he sees fit not for his misdeed to become a focal point. There are far more important things happening than what is in essence a misdemeanour not a live shattering crime that has affected many other people.

According to his brief he was using speed to keep him going whilst tuning and building engines for sporting motorcycles. Not impacting on others?

Being illegal DOES make it wrong. We can't pick and choose which laws each of us abides by.

As long as the work he was of a good quality then no, it didn't impact others. If it was impacting others then yes, it's bad but if it was that bad he'd lose cust wouldnt he?

I still don't agree. We've had numerous law removed, changed and created. Are you saying that while the law was around it was ok but when it was removed it was bad? It's not that black and white. Yes he HAS to be punished, he has broken the law but certainly regarding the weed, it's a pretty silly law IMO.

Who really gives a fig leave the bloke alone

Exactly.

Some bloke who never existed said 'judge not lest ye be judged' and I bet he smoked weed.

It's not like he was selling it to schoolkids.

I have smoked the stuff whilst building a bridge. Yes absolutely idiotic but we all do such silly and strange things.

I bet that there are not many here that are of the saintly kind and never do anything illegal no matter how small.

I suppose if he didn't take the speed to keep him going he wouldn't have needed the weed to calm him down a bit of a viciius circle. I have a long history with the Netherlands and I agree hash should be legal as it would stop all these mind bending cheap imitations which circulate. Lets not use this as a form of knocking someone succesful in the sport as seems to be the culture on here. If someone has a modicum of success they get shot down in flames. Lets face it if he had been addicted to painkillers (cocdamol) or prozac no one would have battered a eyelid

Lets hope he can sort his problems out..

PS I am not a user myself

That Bloke Lee is nothing but a robber !!! He robbed me of years of seeing him ride. He was the best thing I ever saw throw a leg over a Speedway bike, yet he was washed up all too soon. Am I bitter that Lee used drugs ? To Bloody right I am. !

I am glad we had at least 8 great seasons from him, winner once placed twice and a fourth in 6 world final appearances. He made his choices but in my opinion the speedway authorities have alot to answer for they destroyed his speedway career.

and he wouldn't have been any of that If he hadn't been who he was warts and all. You can't have one without the other, i'm affraid. A bit like Barker if he wasn't who he is he wouldn't be the rider he is. I for one find Barker very entertaining both on and off the track

Translation on request.

What an incredible pointless comment! Unless there's going to be a deeper, more meaningful one now that you have had some responses?

Michael Lee has probably received a greater fine than anybody else, due to his 'previous'. Although classed as illegal, the drugs were pretty low grade, they didn't find crack on him. Personally, I have sympathy for him. I went through a divorce a few years back, after 13 years marriage, Michael, an 11 year relationship breakdown. Me, I certainly took to drinking more, Michael, a bit of cannabis and speed, which he says was used to help with his work load. I wonder what the traders in the city use to keep them going, god only knows! I wish Michael Lee all the very best and hope his life settles down.

To all who are slagging him off...Easy to kick a bloke when he is down, not so easy to go tell him to his face what a loser he is. Not the crime of the century and in more liberal countries not a crime at all. Total non story, had he been pushing or selling outside the local school then jail him otherwise leave him alone. As someone earlier said must be in a calender at the local cop shop to go search Michael Lee.

Well i for one wish Michael all the very best
