Edinburgh V Berwick (pl) 26/7/13 @ 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

This week sees the Bandits making an appearance at the Dale hoping to come away with something as the monarchs have been poor at home of late.

Adam Ellis guests for Barrett not sure why though maybe someone can confirm the reason for this. With Ellis guesting it makes the Bandits much stronger as he has banged in 18 points in his 2 previous appearance compared to Barrett who scored 3 earlier in the season.

Teams for Friday:

Edinburgh Monarchs

  1. Craig Cook
  2. Derek Sneddon
  3. Theo Pijper
  4. Max Fricke
  5. Claus Vissing
  6. Mitchell Davey
  7. Joe Tabaka

Berwick Bandits

  1. Ricky Ashworth
  2. David Bellego
  3. Robin Aspegren
  4. Matthew Wethers
  5. Kozza Smith
  6. Adam Ellis (guest)
  7. Paul Starke

Can't say that I'm too disappointed to be missing this one . Looking at previous Bandits visits I can only see a fairly easy home win

It's probably the best time to hit us at the moment with a tough lesson learnt last week and the shenanigans and probable on-going issues surrounding last night... However, I believe Edinburgh realise they'll need to turn the corner very quickly to stop this season from self destructing and tonight may just see a backlash from last night.

Newcastle on Sunday will also be pivotal...

I expect us to win tonight but it won't be a usual Berwick score at the Dale and I think it could be a bit closer...

Should be a good one tonight with Bandits strengthened by their reserve guest Adam Ellis standing in for the so far unremarkable Nicki Barrett..Mon the Monarchs!Lets get it on.. and cue the music in Rocky as he runs up the stairs..Ride fast & ride safe

With Kozza the match-winner in last night's Ashes Test, and Ricky England's top-scorer, the Bandits might just be up for a point here.

If they can set Cookie's blue touch-paper alight after Heat 1, they might get more!

You mean Team GB of course!

Not a great meeting I felt but better than the Newcastle gate & go debacle.Bandits gave it a real good go (for a change ;) )and could & maybe should've got a point but for a couple of falls at key moments.I hope David Bellego is ok after he clattered the fence..i never thought i'd say this, but i was actually relieved when he withdrew from the meeting (for his own safety more than anything  )He was pretty scary to watch tbh and can only hope he's ok to ride tonight.Matty was rock solid for the Bandits and Kozza had as impressive a meeting at the Dale as I've seen.Monarchs save for Mitchell were solid enough though Wee Joe could and should have done better tbh.A wee break next week for the Scottish Open is actually welcome as some of the team need to refocus for the playoffs push that lies ahead imo..

I suppose 39pts around Armadale for Berwick is something of an achievement so for that I congratulate the riders for their performances especially Matt Wethers, but with six race winners all night, four of them from Wethers, its unlikely Berwick were ever going to get a point last night.
