Why?.....According to Scunny Official website he is guesting!

Can someone tell me the rules regarding guests from E/L riding in the P/L when not signed to a premier league club? Obviously they can as Houggard is only E/L rider ?

Exactly the same as when a Premier League rider rides in the Elite League, and a National League rider rides in the Premier League - all completely legal, assuming his average doesn't exceed the rider he is replacing.

Not the best explanation I've seen Najjer. I'm sure June was wondering how an EL rider with no PL average is assessed in comparison, maybe? Can you elaborate?

Riders EL average multiplied by 0.6 gives his PL average.

Uncanny! Thanks SCB. I'm sure June will appreciate it too.

Except that you must mean 1.6, surely? Or is it divided by 0.6?

I never doubted it was not legal, but thank you I know now

My mistake - by the last comment about him being an Elite League rider, I must of misunderstood.

For what it's worth, for anyone that saw him tonight, he was absolutely stunning. The Rebels were somewhat lacklustre with Nick and Josh only scoring 14 between them, but Patrick rode one of the best races I have ever seen at the OTA in heat 13. He was dead and out of it in 3rd place, bombed past Josh on the inside before sweeping round the boards to pass Micky Dyer. Just when you thought he couldn't trump that he went from 3rd to 1st, outside the very impressive Ash Birks and steamed under Nicolai Klindt taking him right to the fence.

VERY impressive was Mr Hougaard - Let's start the rumour mill already, Somerset bound 2014!? 8-)

Not in ht 15 he didn't, on the inside gate, trapped and when straight out towards the fence, NK then tried to come under him but couldn't quite make it going down the back straight and that was that, NK close but never close enough.

Thought we were on for something tonight, but not to be,

What happened to Kyle Newman, hope not bad one?

Had just gone round the outside of Ashley Birks, and the bike literally swung round too far on him and he came down pretty awkwardly on his back/neck area. Didn't hear any news given as to what the outcome/latest was on him but think he was taken away as a precaution more than anything - here's hoping.

Not the way I recall - he went out to the fence (probably too wide) and had to go outside Birks before cutting back to the inside to squeeze Klindt right up against the fence. Comical that you can say Klindt was never close enough, if he didn't back the throttle off down the homestraight he would of been on top of Hougaard's bike where he slammed the door on him.

The way I saw the Newman incident - he had not gone round Birks at all, perhaps level entering the 3rd bend and both riders out wide.

As for ht 15, you paint a very different picture, all the action happened between the start and the apex of the 1st / 2nd bend, that fact is not stated, therefore, making it sound more impressive than it was, although PH never squeezed NK up against the fence at all as NK was quick enough to try the cut up the inside and all that round the 1st bend - my words on NK never got close enough was after the back straight, which is true, he didn't...we do seem to have seen different matches!

When they came out of the 4th bend, Klindt had to back off the throttle to avoid hitting Hougaard who had come up the inside of him into turn 3, before shifting wide into turn 4.

Oops. It's divide by 0.6 to go from EL to PL average. Multiply by 0.6 to go from PL to EL average.

Damn! does that mean our redeclaration to bring Freddie Lindgren in as no 1 isn't gonna get passed now? ;P

Once again a cracking match for a holiday crowd of around 1000 I guess. Hougaard's brilliant ride in heat 13 was incredible. He simply moved Josh aside before timing his move on Dyer to perfection. Josh was a little animated after the race and Garry May was there to put a consoling arm around him as he walked back to the pits. I managed a quick chat with 'Paddy' after the match and he described his move to get past Josh as a 'little naughty, but I knew I had the speed and needed to get past him'. Kyle Newman was involved in another frightening crash, hitting the deck face first after going past Birks entering turn 3. The Rebels young riders really are brave lads and fairly steam through the slightest gap at high speed. An observation on a couple of fans tonight. There is a geezer who stands on the back straight who whenever there is a crash, leaps over the fence, rolls his sleeves up and sets to work in repairing any damage to the fence. Once finished, he simply gets back over the fence and re- joins his mates in the crowd! Compare that to another guy, in his late fifties who whenever a Rebels rider hits the deck, he uses foul language and obscene gestures at the opposing riders. Tonight, he gesticulated angrily at Ashley Birks after Newman's crash. He did similar again earlier to Birks after his clash with Nick Morris in heat 3. For the record, the ref got both decisions correct and the numpty was left literally hopping mad! I nearly offered to buy him an ice cream to calm him down....
