That's the thing, cook should have just bit his tongue and beaten Barker on the track, the same as riders like Kenny Carter used to

Haha...That's a good one...Please, please, tell me that you were joking with that comment....Cos "Kenny Carter" and "bit his tongue" in the same sentence makes absolutely no sense at all to me.

Yes he was always spitting his dummy out and not bitting his tongue, but then he used to let his racing do the talking. At Kenny used to back up his dummy spitting by being a very good rider.

Pfft....Are you some kind of Southern puff :P

They happen all the time up here...and we love them....James Grieves owns boxing world title belts just from his season with Edinburgh...and he wasn't even the best we have had :P

wow that's something to be proud of :-/ Edited by Baldyman

So.....what? Should he bite his tongue or be like Kenny Carter? You seem to be agreeing that Kenny mouthed off a lot, but also saying that he let his racing do the talking...Seems like mixed messages....

Craig has beaten Ben plenty of times this year, including the race that caused the stramash....So does that make it all OK?

wow that's something to be proud of.

That was a joking comment in reply to a friend....but clearly fun is out of the equation on this forum, so I'll just drop that one ;)

Is this the same Kenny Carter that I personally witnessed 'T-boning' riders. That kid was madder than a Barker/Cook dinner date...

aye ok... Whatever, not as close to mine I can assure you... But your another know it all or thinks they are.

Wrong. Sounds like we both might know the same amount and both have reasons to feel close to it, best leave it alone.

At the Edinburgh meeting Cook was interviewed by Scott Wilson during the meeting about Thursday's incident.

Cook himself said that what he did was wrong and was not like him to react in the way that he did and he regrets it big time. He also said that Barker made a comment when going by him in the pits which he then reacted to by giving him a wee slap round the back of the head then it all kicked off from that point. He also said that the Ref was right to chuck him out of the meeting because of the way he acted in the changing rooms.

Was told by someone tonight who usually get all the inside information on things and is very reliable when it comes to information on things like new signings etc that Cook was chucked out for the way he acted in the changing rooms and him and Barker were then both given £350 fines each for the altercation in the pits. The person also said that this incident between Cook and Barker had nothing to do with what happened in heat 1 but with what was said on twitter between the two and because of what happened at the 4's with the crash involving Cook, Tungate and Bellego as Barker was running his mouth about Cook when he was standing outside of his van after the meeting so that people around could hear him.

From what this person has told me they were just as bad as each other IMO, if Cook didn't get chucked out of the meeting for the way he acted in the changing rooms we probably wouldn't still be talking about this as it would have been put down as handbags between the two an we would have all moved on.

So this description of events is now pretty much as most had posted yet got shot down by Monarchs fans as biased against Cook.

ie some posturing, a few words and a bit of a scuffle - silly but no big deal. Then Cook lost the plot in the room with the ref.

Not quite the premeditated scam set up by big time charlies at Ipswich that was the theory put forward.

Hope a line can be drawn under this now . British speedway is in a bad enough state without two of it's alleged top riders at each other's throats .

no problem

It's clear that the Moanarchs fans live in their own little world of violent agreement.

Yet again last night the Live Updates was bereft of Edinburgh info because the Moanarchs fans are so up themselves that they won't share - it's far more important for them to get "hits" on their own site, and who cares about anyone else.

:-)

Can't Cook, right idiot!

welcome back lovey :)

exactly. Im an Ipswich fan and he is dislike thats obvious so why the heck did Middlo pick him? Tai has even gone on Twitter to congratulate Cook!

Yet again poor decision making from Middlo

I thought Tai would have known better than that, maybe he's still got a bit of growing up to do,I'll give him the benefit of the doubt,he's still young I guess

I would say to those that are questioning Belle Vue's decision to appoint Cookie as their new captain that this incident is very much out of character for Craig.I cannot remember any other such happenings in his career. So,he is human with flaws..shockerooney  Imho what happened at Foxhole on Thursday was a one off.Barker on the other hand ( a straight right :P ) has been a complete idiot his whole career and will never learn.Craig will, and that is the difference..

Moanarchs are the Liverpool of speedway... Never our fault ...always get a raw deal.... #prayforedinburgh

That sort of comment is seriously offensive, why bring a football tragedy into this? If you don't think you have you are wrong

It never ceases to amaze me how people read different things into the same post. I didn't for one moment think that the above comment had anything to do Hillsborough.

I saw it as a comparison by the way Liverpool fans react when one of their players get themselves into trouble. Suárez is seen by millions on television biting an opponent, yet according to some Rabid Scousers it was all down to what Ivanović did. Similarly he's found guilty of being a racist, yet these same Liverpool morons blame Evra, presumably for being French!!!!!

In the same way some of the more imbecilic members of the Monarchs faithful are attempting to deflect attention away from the moronic and cretinous actions of Cook.

Barker is a plum we all know that.

trouble is Cook is turning into one and someone needs to grab hold of him soon and tell him a few home truths

The progress Cook has made since joining the Monarchs has been remarkable. Either he's had a word with himself or someone else has had a word with him already. Either way full credit to him for what he's archived so far.

LOL, another moaning weegie - surprise, anyway a bit of theatre at the twitchers and everyone gets their panties wet. Cookie admitted he was wrong last night, the lad's just got learn to deal with yoda, the likes of Millen & Gresham would have sorted yoda on track without need for a meeting.

PS last time i looked at hits on chatzone was when we went thru 100K posts a few seasons ago.
