Rain has now stopped 4 miles East of track. Forecast is possible showers mid afternoon then dry until later this evening, but this is England, so get your skis out! lol.

Jonny went in early this morning to start pumping the water off the track. We have cancelled the training school, which was due to go on at 1.00pm, and that was to allow him and his team the full afternoon to work on the track. It is expected to stop raining midday, so he has about 6 hours to get it raceable. Remember that last year Jonny produced some superb tracks in similar circumstances to this, so I am very hopeful as long as the raingods do their bit and stop the rain at the planned time.

Unfortunately with this last increase in rain it is now advised on the Diamonds website that the meeting is OFF, postponed.

A bit surprised as the forecast from 4pm onwards is sunshine. Assume that is too late to get the track ready.

Have you seen the two photos that Jonny has posted on Facebook.

The rain was expected to stop at lunchtime but it got harder about 10.45 and that was probably what changed the plan. The whole of the back straight under water and 3rd/4tf bends about 3/4 of the way across the track.

If that is the case - then a 'Call Off' is the right decision sadly.

It means that Richie will be at no.1 for the rescheduled meeting. it will be interesting to see if George decides to change the riding order with Robbo. not riding at 5, Anyone got an opinion on that?

Isn't it typical?

It's a beautiful day here in Sunderland now, I'm not at all surprised that the 'Diamonds' Meeting is 'off' because of the amount of rain we have had over the weekend - BUT - it really is a lovely evening for Speedway.

Ah well - 'Sod's Law' I suppose.
