lucifer sam
While everyone is focusing on the negative (and yes it was frustrating to be kept waiting for 45 minutes), fair play to the riders last night. They did their absolute best to get through proceedings in time, despite the heat. I think they deserve a huge slap on the back. All the best Rob Do not think ANYONE is having a go at the riders.I would say the complete opposite. They were the heroes for giving it a go and try to get meeting complete - so much so a rider (Shane) ended up on his knees exhausted. lucifer sam
I have said before that badly run tracks are having a drip-feed negative effect on the overall product that is British Speedway. The negativity being generated is bad for all promoters and the sooner some promoters are brought to book to meet minimum requirements the better. Licenses should be suspended when minimum standards are not being met. Apologies no longer wash it. There is a maximum age for referees to officiate and it is high time the same applies to Promoters. There's a not huge queue of promoters waiting to come into speedway. Are you suggesting a track should shut down the moment the promoter reaches a nominal age (e.g. 65)? jim the whipper
Assuming the Paramedic had been duly booked , why would anyone blame the Kent management ? If I book a taxi and it turns up 50 minutes late is that my fault ? the paramedic is not doing the meetings for charity he is getting paid ,so if he failed to uphold what he was contracted to do and subsequently losses were made he should be sued , the riders could sue for loss of earnings and the promotion could sue for damages .

Dead right. Occasionally, things are entirely out of the control of the promotion but some can't wait to blame them anyway.

Only problem there: if that course of action was taken would paramedics then refuse to work at Central Park? One would hope not of course, but some strange things happen in the world these days. waco
I do feel you can not blame the management for the paramedics late arrival,.The company supplying the paramedic should be sent a bill for riders lost earnings..Riders some come hundreds of miles to get there ,,many fans probably over an hours drive to get there.. An yet the only person the meeting can not run without ( Apart from the ref i suppose ) is the only person that does not turn up on time.. So every one who was going to be at the meeting was there waiting for this one indispensable person to turn up to earn his considerable fee ,,... disgraceful... Change the company supplying these paramedics and inform other promotions of their incompetence.... Edited July 24, 2013 by waco

Perhaps Kent Kings' management can give an official comment on what happened and the response given them in regard to the late arrival of the Paramedic. They owe that surely to the many spectators who were kept waiting?
