TheReturn
Neil is a very good manager, In recent years how do we know? It's so easy to appear to be a good manager when your club team includes Holder, Ward etc.

Fromafar
Not true, you and me could have achieved what Middlo has done this year... He may be a nice bloke, but he's just a totem and not up to the job There is no 'team spirit' in Team GB (England) and his tactical skills are questionable at best. The riders available may not be good enough to win the WTC, but a passionate Manager that does more than fill in the program might help. Having said that, the powers that be in British Speedway seem not to be that bothered...(at all).. Some Brits have a attitude problem and big ego to try and cope with ,which is beyond them
stratton
Mate that bottom line is probably more to the truth, Neil is a very good manager, but if bad vibes filter down from the top then no matter what is said then your not going to get full rider comitment hence why didn't Scott ride? yes i was pleased to see Bridger ride properly and not showboat But take away Tai and Bomber we are in dire trouble, and i don't care what anybody says, nobody, will improve things, not this year next year or the year after without the full backing of the powers that be. Some Brits have a attitude problem and big ego to try and cope with ,which is beyond them Do you know them personally? or are you guessing!! Gavan
Yeh right! are you for real? ask Ward,Holder(ect) and other ex Great riders i wont name them all and other endless top class riders he has dealt with.Ok he has made mistakes so what we all have ! but his record over a long period stacks up pretty favourably in his favour, yep Kevin Keegan was great at Newcastle and crap for England!! Just because you Poole fans think the sun shines from his backside doesn't mean he is right for the country. Oh and Keegan failed because he picked the wrong team and his tactics were crap! ring any bells???

Daniel Smith
Question as I have no idea. Was Middlo a team manager before Mart Ford came along and how did those teams do???
gary moore
<abusive personal posts by Gavan and Sidney removed> tut tut tut!! come on you two, this is supposed to be a `freindly` forum? weve all got views on this subject, some right, some wrong but lets not attack each other eh? BADGER69
If you look around at the team managers at the moment and Middlo went as stated who is there to take his place. Could we have a foreign manager in charge and would that be better in the long run because they seem to have more passion than Elite league managers

Could we have a foreign manager in charge and would that be better in the long run because they seem to have more passion than Elite league managers Do you think that Team Manager in Speedway really makes the difference,a wee bit rider juggling and the guts to drop an out of form rider could be done by most people,if it pays off a hero if not your a numpty.I would have thought that a recently retired rider with a bit of set-up knowledge would be more beneficial whoever that may be. Just a suggestion.
Shale Shaker
Scott Nicholls - Rider / manager - that's one solution.
Ipswich Jules
Funny how the best riders always wanted to ride for him, I remember crumpie saying the only person he wanted to ride for was middlo. He also said that Foxhall is his favourite track, doesn't make it the best available does it?
Fromafar
Perhaps the Team Manager should also have a experienced Pit Crew to offer advice on set ups during meetings if required. The riders seem to get into all sorts of bother with their own crew sometimes. Starman2006
Gav, and tell me this, what has Neil got to work with? If he puts out the experienced riders and we get beat, people moan, if he puts out the kids and they get tailed off, which they will, people will moan, he's in a no win situation.. But of course there are many would be managers on here who obviously think they can do better,,, behind a keyboard...

Everyone said EK was the wrong choice, yet our national manager chose him. Maybe us keyboard managers could do a better job when it comes to selection. I some how very much doubt it, its all very well shouting from behind a computer screen, but put you in the pits you would fall to pieces. Thus not a single person on this forum (even you!) could do any worse. Nothing to lose and all that
