oldtimer
Even without Doyle, the Tigers are in for a mauling, they have only won two of their home League matches and in both of those failed to get all 3 points. Their away record is abysmal and Rebels should hit 60 providing the guest pulls his weight. A great pity Joe Screen not available in what would be his last appearance at the Oak Tree. EnglishRoundabout
Was looking forward to coming down to Somerset again tonight, but no Doyle or Screen put the dampeners on it for me. Nick Morris to clean up tonight?

Nick Morris to clean up tonight? Know nothing about this new rider for Glasgow, so god knows how well he will go.. but I'd be mega surprised if Nick, Alex and Josh don't all go through the card tonight. I saw Glasgow at Plymouth recently and they were pretty dire. Tonight they are even weaker without Screen....

Anders Thomsen 19, is a Danish under 21International. He scored 8 points for his country in the European Under 21 team Championship Final earlier this month, beating GP wild card Bartosz Zmarzlik and GP hopeful Vaclav Milik whilst chasing Piotr Pawlicki's back wheel in his opening race. He has also ridden in Poland. He was also World 80cc Champion a few years ago. I'm surprised you didn't know all this Najjer! When I wrote this I thought Stefan and Tom were back, however Somerset guest reserves scored 8 compared to Glasgow reserves 7 so they did ok. Therefore it's a bit worrying that Rebels only 4 points ahead after heat 9. Glasgow's previous away scores in the League are 27, 29, 30 twice, 34, 35 and 39, so to score 37 against the Rebels was one of their best performances. Didn't attend tonight, perhaps that's why they didn't hit 60. Edited July 19, 2013 by oldtimer

Lioness
Good to hear Pirate Nick, its a tough ask of the lad. We certainly seem to have at least been a bit competitive which has to be an improvement - a massive one! - on recent meetings!
drew2
First sample of live speedway this year and thought it was a pretty entertaining match. Track was slick but thats down to the weather but riders still made it work and had some good close racing. Josh was superb against his former club with stunning 4th to 1st ride to complete things in ht15. Alex was solid apart from losing 2nd to Bager in ht 3 when he didn't look at his quickest, Nick was up and down but didn't lack effort. Kyle was unlucky as i am sure he didn't really cause Ringwood to fall in ht 6 to earn the exclusion he received from Mrs Turnbull. The guests at reserve did the job required and Paul Starke got better as the night went on as he sussed the setup needed to get him off the start. Morley did ok when he made the gate and mixed it at times. Shame to see Screeny missing but Kozza did a pretty good job with 11. I was impressed with Anders Thomsen who was probably worth more than his 4 points, looked quick out in front. Probably not a 7pt rider at moment but will be in future. Bager battled hard and i thought he had scored more than the 7 he did. Compton was awful until ht 14 when he was suddenly on the pace for a couple of laps, a shadow of his former self. Grieves was also a shadow of his former self but in the other direction! Was that really him under that crash helmet, the self confessed OTA hater actually looked pretty good in his first 3 rides! Ringwood was average and Jacobs looked impressive in ht 2 but faded somewhat later. All in al a decent meeting to watch especially in shirt sleeves for the first time ever for me at the OTA since it opened!

whowasthatberntpersson
Glasgow were right in this for a fair old time. Some very good racing once more, and the first holiday crowd looked very reasonable.. The Tigers new Dane looks promising, and Greavesy looked quick at times. Useful performance by Starke for the Rebels, shame Berwick have tabs on him. Good all round display by the Rebels even with Morris still struggling to find the right setup for the Oak Tree Arena (getting close though). He was good value on track too, and very gracious in his interview afterwards praising the rebels and Josh's heat 15 ride also - good to see.
