With Newcastle no doubt smarting from the KO cup exit they'll be out to take all 4 four points. And they'll have good reason to believe they can do just that. With r/r for Henry who on his last visit under performed and yet Newcastle won by a point in the first leg of the enthralling KO cup tie.

The weather forecast is beautiful.

Let's hope for a cracker of a meeting.

I have a feeling this'll be the best meeting of the season to date.

Given that r/r for Henry means that Tully, Worrall, Lindgren, & Kerr can take his rides, this should yield more points than a fit Christian would have scored.

Despite Monarchs good away form, Newcastle will start as favourites to win this one comfortably.

Newcastle are the one team in the division equipped to confidently come to Armadale and expect to take a win... R/R for Henry makes them stronger imho...

However, since the KOCup match, we've got Jozsef at reserve and Claus has finally found some setup that works round the Dale...

When all is said and done, I still expect it to be very close with a 2-4pt win either way... Certainly don't see a 10pt home win...

My prediction? 46-44

In truth, it ain't Lindgren we're worried about at Armadale...

Messr's Robson, Tully, Worrall and Kerr will do enough damage to keep you in with a shout of at the very least, an away point.

Shocking performance. Exactly the same as the cup match. Newcastle sharper out the starts and want the points more out the second bend, no excuses for this type of ineptitude. Happening to often at home. Redcar, Newcastle twice. Poor

Stunning performance from the Diamonds tonight. Ok so we no doubt gained with r/r but let's not forget Tully ef while on a 5-1 and an Edinburgh tactical. Expect Tully to score heavily at Edinburgh but to beat Cook three times out of three is some effort. Ludo likewise. He's taken plenty of stick recently but that's as good a performance as he's put in for us. Awesome result :approve:

And Robbo falling when on a 5 - 1 in the first heat - outstanding performance

Going from the hilarious text updates, I thought it was a shocking performance where one of the Newcastle Riders knocked of an opponent's chain with their back wheel on purpose.

Followed by an appalling refereeing decision when a rider at the tapes left despite their only being 30 seconds to go.

Makes it all worthwhile :)

A wee wake up call for the Monarchs tonight , you wont win nothing gating like you did tonight . Not a failure in the Diamonds side tonight and the victory margin could even have been greater but for bad luck . Robson's fall in heat 1 when on a 5-1 . Tully's ef when on a 5-1 and Vissing's dive in heat 13 when Worrall made a clean pass up his inside . You couldn't help but be impressed by the solidity of the Newcastle side , even Christian Henry's r/r rides yeilded a paid maximum .

Dunno what the story was with Edinburgh , Sneddon , Tabaka and Davey were abysmal and even the blessed Cookie found himself on the wrong end of a 5-1 .

Happy viewing for a long suffering Tigger , with Lindgren and Tully especially far better than anything the Monarchs had to offer . Lindgren was a bit wild in his opening ride , but was imperious after that till heat 15 . But the job was done by then .

Newcastle put a big marker down tonight .

Paulco - it's always good when a supporter can recognise when they were genuinely beaten, rather than blame it on bad luck / poor track / poor refereeing / etc.

If all sides did the same and looked at themselves following a defeat and tried to work out why it went wrong and how they could be better next time I am sure they would be much better because of it. As Edinburgh are a "local" rival of the Diamonds and also have a similar track (which results in close scores) I sincerely hope the Monarchs continue to provide such excellent matches and I hope we actually win at home this time :)

Have to agree with Paulcos' comments on this meeting , it was the start of my holidays tonight so I went to this one . The Monarchs never looked like winning this one and The Diamond Geezers were worthy winners .

I'm a Tigers fan , so not totally neutral . Wasn't really a great meeting , pretty much gate and go . And Newcastle were far superior at the gating bit .
