Guest
As the football chant goes on this puzzling two-tier admission policy: Own goal! However, in fairness, the Rye House website at the present time says this in regard to admission to the double-header meeting: Please note that admission prices on Saturday will be: Adults £20, Seniors £18, Teens £9, with Children under 12 admitted FREE. So where has that reduced charge of £16 for the second match appeared from? Any clarification in regard to how admission charges were made? Was it a straight fee as per the Rye House website quote or is there a reduction for those who only want to attend the second match? A pity if it was the latter and you paid £20 but only wanted to spectate at the first match?
TheScotsman
In fairness, having been at Rye for the last 2 Saturdays, even in the blistering hot weather they have done a good job at keeping the dust down.
Marcelle
If a rider is injured a team can use a guest...If a Rye rider gets injured against Glasgow, they would be at a disadvantage against Sheffield cos obviously they wouldnt have time to find a guest so it would be r/r this could cause problems if the team were already running r/r....just a thought. Fozzie4388
Surely if they asked nicely a Glasgow rider would guest? Edited July 20, 2013 by Superstar1
Marcelle
Surely if they asked nicely a Glasgow rider would guest? Never thought of that, would it be allowed if the scenario happened.
Lioness
yes it is allowed Marcelle. Obviously though it is like a restricted choice but it is allowed in a double header

Rayleigh
An enjoyable evening at Rye. Aspregren looks excellent and is quickly working out the best way round his new home. Bunyan looking his sharpest for a few years in fact a level I feared he may not achieve again. Mellgren more than solid and Nelson just so easy on the eye and Morley enjoyed his day in the sun. Kasper although trying so hard must soon learn to at least gate somewhere near the rest or his talent will be wasted. I also thought Bager, Grieves Sarjeant and Albin rode hard not always getting the points they deserved. With Garrity back maybe next week the season is not over although the way we will probably finish it will a case of what might have been

Take plenty of 'refreshments' young Shadders and i hope your battery lasts mate Track was fine. Slickened off towards the end of the second match, but no dust clouds. Programme notes said that the ref for the Edinburgh meet awarded the track 9/10, the highest mark he's given anywhere. Had about 20% battery life left by the end Youngy. Enough to call the RAC to come and change my tire. Edited July 21, 2013 by Shadders
Shadders
42 points ... Pretty pleased with that! Only 2 less than you scored at home against us on Thursday and against a team knackered after 15 heats against Glasgow including 5 points "gained" by tacticals... Well done Edited July 21, 2013 by Shadders
iand
Very disappointed with Nicolai Klindt last night. His 1st time at rye but never seemed comfortable. Compare that to Pontus who looks very good around Rye, good debut last week against a strong Edinburgh side and 6 race wins last night, most of which were from the back. Hope he stays for the rest of the season.
Mike.Butler
..the track was down to base half way through first match and there were many falls on 3rd/4th bends resulted as riders tried to go round outside..Oddly far fewer falls in the 2nd match...worried for a while that the junior laddie out on a demo ride after heat 14 of glasgow match was going to cause a long delay when the ambulance took him off the track..last thing we needed with 30 heats to get through..however hid dad took him away eventually so delay not great thankfully.. I think all riders should have their dads present to help out in these situations!..
Guest
Anyone know how much it costs to get in for the double header. From Rye House website:- Please note that admission prices on Saturday will be: Adults £20, Seniors £18, Teens £9, with Children under 12 admitted FREE. Any Sheffield supporters want to wait til the first match is done then normal prices are available £16 Lets be honest if you've travelled down from the frozen nortb you may as well pay the £4 extra and boo/cheer the opposition in the other match ( i mean panto style booing/cheering not when a rider has a big getoff ) I can't remember Rye House offering the option before. I wasn't at Rye House (my last visit was when Vic Ridgeon, Mike Broadbank and Al Sparrey were the local favourites) but I understand from a reliable source admission was as stated on the website. So where did the £16 brouhaha originate from? Just a fan's fertile mind at work maybe?
Harman
Where was Richard Hall? Only three riders from the real Sheffield side racing last night, just doesn't seem right calling the side Sheffield and the Management saying they were proud of the side, but that's the rules/speedway. As posted on another thread don't understand when the side are struggling so much in the league (home and away) that we don't use our own asset to boost the side both in points scored and support other members of the team. Sheffield have tried everything else, last throw of the dice for this season? The post from the other thread - I have copied this from the Sheffield Facebook page, Simon has asked a very good question: Why are we not using our own asset Emiliano Sanchez? Always good for 6 points home and away...unlike some...he never let us down, good club man, would be a good influence on Facundo possibly...make him feel a bit more at home with having a fellow countryman to chat with and apparently he's not heard anything since the end of last season though he's ready to race. Probably down to the fact would be an improvement on what we already got. The biggest problem was that we had 3 riders on assessed averages so the only riders that we could have replaced with Sanchez were the top 4. You would not have changed the top 3 for Sanchez, and overall swapping Sanchez for Haines is basically swapping like for like really when you balance it out, if your going to make changes then it should be to improve things. When the chance came to make a good change ie the assessed rider gain true averages the Promotion chose to go with Adam Roynon for Jake Knight, rather than Sanchez for Jake Knight, which for most is or was a no brainer you would go for the first option. Since then we have lost Stead, Hall, Haines and Koppe, and to bring in Sanchez we could only use him for Stead, Hall and Haines, and we would have to rule out one of those three for at least 28 days. The only one likely to be out for that length of time is Stead and that would rule out a top Guest rider. . . .
