World Cup Final

Recommended Posts

Let's just hope that the meeting doesn't turn into a farce like last years, with riders slowing down to stop other teams playing jokers. The 2012 SWC Final I still feel was a disgrace to the sport. And tonight's race-off proved that this might happen, as it was self evident that this was the case with certain teams in the meeting.

All I want too see is a great meeting with fair rules for all teams - I don't care who wins - I just want too see a honest meeting.

Otherwise for me the 2014 competition (if there is one) will be SWC R.I.P.

It will, sadly. Until riders/teams are penalised for throwing races it will keep happening. It's a good thing that speedway isn't in the media's eye as they would jump on such a story in a bigger, more recognised sport.

is it any different to a cricket match in which the batsmen decline to take a single so that the better batsman remains in strike?

hope it a good final ,no tactical slowing down and the ausies finish last ,thats all i ask

With the Czech Republic in there??? It's impossible for the Aussies not to come third in this hugely devalued competition this year. Darcy should score more than the Czechs combined.

Regards. Alan.

9 out of those 16 riders race in the UK B-)

As all the Aussies race over here I'm supporting them :-D

Hope Niels has a great meeting too of course but can't bring myself to support the Danes as a team.

I'm expecting the Danes to win though . .

Perhaps, but Ward can't ride all the heats, and are the rest of Oz better than the Czechs? Points can get dropped, jokers played, sudden engine failures and pure bad luck is always a threat. They are favourites for bronze, but who could predict yesterdays outcome? I for one hope it'll be a tight one with huge surprises, even though my money is on Denmark.

i agree but i just want the aussies last

I think you'll need to sneak into the pits before every race and put sugar in the Aussies tanks. Lets hope it is a good meeting, whichever order the 3 finish above the Czechs. Regards. Alan.
