MattK
USA maybe i know it sounds a bit daft but Monster are a USA company as far as i know and if you're going to hire a stadium out why not put on all 4 rounds there.Knock out cheap tickets + Monsters extreme sports background could be a winner though probably a loss maker but speculate to accumulate as the old sayinv goes. What a week that would be!
mikec
Bloody hell Phil it might be worth buying shares in that company as they were just very large on the other thread and are now massive. I have worked for small, massive and very large companies in the construction industry and 6 mill is a tiny project and something as tiny as a tin shed and a bit of dirt shaped like an oval would be no big deal to a small firm let alone a massive one. So the size of the company is really irrelevant as all sizes of companies in the construction industry are having a really bad time so you might see a massive firm bidding for a garage extension soon. Actually all massive building companies have small works departments and do indeed compete with small companies for minor projects like this tin shed. They have been 'pushing through planning permission asap' for a while now. I have seen many a project with planning permission fall by the wayside so even that really means nothing until someone takes a machine and a couple of cabins onto the site and strips it ready for construction. I personally have been assigned to projects that even after that phase have been shelved so even that is no guarantee. From this, & several other posts by you across a couple of threads, two main points are clear. 1. That you have a civil engineering/construction/project management background. And 2. You have a seriously cynical view of the likelihood of the new Belle Vue Stadium ever reaching fruition. If your concerns are subsequently proven to have foundation, then I will be on this forum to congratulate you on being right all along & mourning the death of my club. Should the stadium be erected (eventually/2015?), I'm sure you'll be on here stating that your fundamental concerns about the project & the integrity of the current promotion were genuine, but unfounded, in the interests of balance of course. I think it's clear that you are frustrated by the lack of progress - I've been going to the dog track (our "temporary" home) for 25 years, to visit it has become an increasingly depressing chore - so I share that frustration, believe me! Having read your posts, I wonder if you have some motivation or reasoning for wanting the project to fail? If I'm misreading your posts or detecting an intonation in your posts that isn't there then I apologise. From your posts on other threads you're obviously a keen speedway follower with constructive, positive views/opinions on many threads. However on the new Belle Vue Stadium related topics, without access to the FULL facts, you suggest (quite strongly) the possibility of a scam re the "buy a brick/slab" scheme. You may be proved right, or it may be proven to be an unfounded cheap shot at a promotion who are not in a position to divulge more information at this time. Time will tell. Back directly on this topic, I'd like to see the 2014 World Cup Final at a track like Kumla, Czestochowa or Torun from a racing point of view. From the rest of my post I think you can guess where I'd like the 2015 Final to be held........! Edited July 24, 2013 by mikec
