Swc 2014 - Any Idea Where?

Recommended Posts

There is a mention of it being in Vojens on Sunday 3rd August (Unconfirmed on www.zapaday.com)

I really hope not as I went to the GP Qualifying Final Event a few years ago and it is in the middle of nowhere. 2 hours from Copenhagen, 2 hours from Hamburg

Similar problem to Mallila but people overcame them.

Would Russia be capable of hosting the SWC?. It would get over the risk of them playing up next year and a Russian team in the fiinal would make life interesting.

And on top of that the track is just as abysmal as a Prague. No dirt whatsoever.

Distance wise 2 hours aint that bad, its not worse then Sweden where most tracks are more then

2 hours away from the major airports.

Has to be Manchester, after team GB performance this year cant see us challenging for a final place unless we get the seeding as hosts.

It can hardly be held at a stadium that isn't even built yet.

Russia or Latvia would be interesting.

I doubt the top Russian riders would turn up even in Russia.

I don't know what kind of website 'zapaday' is but it doesn't seems to make any sense lol. Date has been published on 16 Nov 2011. Plus if you look to the 'related events' on that website you will find that this years World Cup is in Gorzow this weekend

Good spot ...... I found the info after searching in Google but didn't notice the date :icon_smile_clown: . Here's hoping for a decent venue in a decent town/city, where there's plenty to do between the play-off and final events

USA maybe i know it sounds a bit daft but Monster are a USA company as far as i know and if you're going to hire a stadium out why not put on all 4 rounds there.Knock out cheap tickets + Monsters extreme sports background could be a winner though probably a loss maker but speculate to accumulate as the old sayinv goes.

It doesn't even have planning permission to be built. Looks like the Aces are at the dog track in 2014 now

That shows how much nonsense has been talked about this National tin shed. If it does not even have planning permission then 2015 will be an optimistic date for it. Would not surprise me if the whole idea is quietly dropped in the next year or so.

I just looked at the national Stadium website and they seem to just be selling bricks and paving slabs for 50 quid rather than anything to do with an actual speedway stadium.

Their FAQ are all about how one buys a brick/paving slab. I would have thought that there would be more frequently asked questions than Q. Should I have a Brick or a Paver.

You can buy a much cheaper brick or paving slab from your local builders merchant or simply steal one from a building site. Then write a message on it with chalk or black marker pen. It will have as much chance of being seen as a 50 quid one in a fantasy land speedway stadium :)

It looks more like one of those scam sites that tries to get your banking details.

If that's all that's there years after they announced this fantasy then I would say it will never happen.

BUILDERS for the new BV stadium have been appointed. They are a massive international company for whom a £6million construction project like this should be a walk in the park. They will be pushing through planning permission asap. Still don't think it can be considered as an international venue in 2014.

I wonder (and it is no more than that) if Warsaw was to take a SGP slot the SWC might go to Bydgoszcz.

Bloody hell Phil it might be worth buying shares in that company as they were just very large on the other thread and are now massive.

I have worked for small, massive and very large companies in the construction industry and 6 mill is a tiny project and something as tiny as a tin shed and a bit of dirt shaped like an oval would be no big deal to a small firm let alone a massive one.

So the size of the company is really irrelevant as all sizes of companies in the construction industry are having a really bad time so you might see a massive firm bidding for a garage extension soon. :)

Actually all massive building companies have small works departments and do indeed compete with small companies for minor projects like this tin shed.

They have been 'pushing through planning permission asap' for a while now.

I have seen many a project with planning permission fall by the wayside so even that really means nothing until someone takes a machine and a couple of cabins onto the site and strips it ready for construction.

I personally have been assigned to projects that even after that phase have been shelved so even that is no guarantee.

Now to be fair they have only been pushing planning permission for a year or so, the previous 12 months they were dotting the I s and crossing the T s
