World Cup Race Off - 18th July 2013

Auty hasnt 'stood still'. His average has improved by 2 points since 2011! I dont hink Auty will ever be World Class but i think in future he can be a dependable and solid rider for GB.

his EL average maybe has, but we all know how bad that has become with the majority of riders PL riders or a similar standard, don't get me wrong,he's a decent rider and entertaining...but not good enough or consistent enough for to be classed good enough for GB. It's only that we are so bad with a shortage of riders that his name is mentioned in that bracket.

Spot on ,no disrespect to Josh but I think that sums it up

North's inclusion would be a gamble but he's young and deserves the chance to get some experience.

not if the aussies want to get through!!

Auty can do something that 90% of British riders can't do.

Pass riders!

he can but not at this level!

You can learn gating but you can't learn to pass!

He has something to work with and that's the ability to generate speed, His style is similar to a raw Michael Jepsen Jensen

can you learn gating? ask Mark Loram!

I don't think Middlo done himself any favours the other night, judging by some of the decisions he made . To most people it was an ideal opportunity to include Worrall in his first international. Racing the NA most week would have used the good grounding and I am in no doubt he would have done well in this class field. But you elected to use Kennett and then sub him after one pathetic ride. He rode that race like a novice, but even he deserved the benefit of another go. The competition the other night was not about Denmark, they were always going to win, it was about beating Sweden and USA. To have use all your eggs by heat 7 is not my idea of a good manager. As it happened the competition was poor and we progressed through, but that was more to do with luck then the decision made by our management. I feel it was an opportunity missed and riders like Worrall would have benefitted big time. Also, I thought Cook equipped himself pretty good . he was not outclassed and I can understand his frustration of being dropped . I don't think his replacements will fear much better, after all we're not talking about a Michael Lee or a Peter Collins just a pair of the same PL standard riders.. And to think, we once had more class riders then all the other nations put together. How times has changed

Middlo just drops Eddie and he'd be admitting his original selection mistake. He drops Cook and Eddie and it's "we're strengtheneneneneneening up for the play-offs". Yeah right.

I agree completely with GRW123 ... Should have been Worrall and Cook at KL. After all, with these rules, you only need 2 top riders effectively when the oppo isn't strong as your strongest 2 can go for 18 and 21 points each. So we were reasonably assured of not being last.

Having picked Kennett he was dumped after 1 ride (was it necessary to go all jokered up that early?) ... On his last ride his confidence was so blown he just slid off. Cookie aquitted himself quite well (despite not gating which surprised me).

Having dumped Cookie ... god forbid we pick up an injury ... who would Middlo bring in if we make the final ... "Micky Dyer" (I'm joking here everyone .... I know he's an Aussie)

Fingers crossed for Thursday anyway ... up the Brits

IMO theres no reason why the GB team cant get to saturdays final,Hancock is certainly capable of winning races but theres not much after that for the USA,Latvia showed in Poland last sunday they can be compeditive but I think the finals beyond them.Next come the Aussies,Ward of course is world class, and to a lesser extent Batchelor but theres points to be gained from Doyle and Watt.

Aussies are saying there's Tai and to a lesser extent Harris but there's points to be gained from Barker and Bridger .Hope the Latvians shock both of them which they may be capable.certaianly spoilers big time.

And so he should,if we make the Final then its 3rd place at best for me on saturday.

Probably thats realistic. But if we did, get there, then im sure the message would be we have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain..

Team GB will be leaving the world cup after tomorrow night.

Darcy Ward is just too good, Middlo knows it and unless Middlo locks Ward up in his bedroom, I can see a comfortable Aussie win by 10 points.

If Team GB beat Australia tomorrow, I won't post on the forum until August and that's how confident I am of Mark Lemon's troops.
