Backless
And Im sure McDonalds will take on board that once everyone seen an advert that they sell burgers, there's no need to advertise again. As for being a pointless channel, I'm sure those that follow the wide range of motorsports, Tour De France, football et al will all be willing to sign up to that opinion. A free-to-air channel, available in every house in the country? Let's all pray the sport never makes another appearance.
Guest
Why do so many threads on here end up with silly comments as time progresses?
Ray Stadia
Or just couldnt give a rubbish? Pointless bit of filler on a pretty pointless channel. Better ways to fill 30 minutes or however long it lasted. Once you've seen one presenter learn to ride a speedway bike you've seen them all. No doubt they either raced a professional but only for 2 laps vs their 4 of they filmed someone competent and claimed it was the guy learning. You perhaps would have been better watching Big Brother SCB, it is available on Virgin Media, on demand, if you are lucky enough to have that facility. Would have spared you watching Henry 'promoting' speedway on national TV.
Gemini
Why do so many threads on here end up with silly comments as time progresses? Wait until the Winter when there's no speedway 'cos it gets a lot worse.
Ray Stadia
I have just seen the speedway part of the show and all the negative comments are completely unfair. It show cased part of a meeting with Lakeside Hammers versus Poole, with some good action and a not shabby crowd, with Pete 'the restorer' and a mate having a go on some 140 cc speedway bikes, around the Hagon Academy track, which I didn't know existed. Great to bring on the youngsters, which must be the intention of the track. Chris Holder was the coach for Pete and his mate, with Martin Hagon doing a bit. Haven't seen Martin for a few years. Excellent part of the programme!
Guest
Why do so many threads on here end up with silly comments as time progresses? Wait until the Winter when there's no speedway 'cos it gets a lot worse. That's sad because it demeans the value of what should be an important and valuable debating forum for speedway. I can understand a joke comment about the theme but when the art of debate is forgotten and a subject just depends on others firing flak at each other on matters not relevant to the thread it takes all value out of the whole topic under discussion. My reference was to the fact that one member in particular jumps on most comments I make and tries to make a silly comment-link in regard to a south London area. It is not usually a direct response to the thread I have created but just an endeavour to try and wind me up. Some forum members also respond in an unnecessary aggressive manner that's not really needed. Look at the two highlight words - that's "aggressive mood" and not needed. Without them the ressponse would have been a polite reply and not needed a further comment from me. Edited July 22, 2013 by Guest
Gemini
I think you're just going to have to develop a 'thick skin' and ignore any aggressive comments because that's the style of some members on the forum and they aren't going to change. Alternatively you could always put selected members on your ignore list then you won't have to read any of their posts. Click on your name at top right, then 'Manage Ignore Prefs', add the names and save. Edited July 22, 2013 by Gemini

I'll add another I have in mind when they next take a silly dig at my comment. I can stand straight forward debates but am not happy about playing "silly games" when there's no need to do so. iris123
All well and good, until we remember you having a few aliases at the same time and chatting to "yourself" on this forum. Now who plays "silly games" i wonder?
oldace
I didn't realise there was an ITV4. I did know of ITV and ITV3. I'll try and find the Freeview Channel number for this. Will it just be a speedway bike on display or what? - do you have any idea what might be shown? Rather a droll response! Still, this is the BSF and only to be expected. What I wanted to know will the programme just show displays of motorcycles or - hopefully - also feature action. Obviously, reading your reply you don't know either! Actually, it's not so easy these days. I have Virgin Media, but no recording facility. I have a DVD player, but no recording facility. I still have a Video recorder hooked up, but rarely used. And Virgin Media does have their version of I-player, but only the main channels, which, yes includes this programme, as it is ITV. So, once again, your 'snipe' doesn't totally fit....but keep trying, you will get there! If you avoid posting crap like the above, and liking other posts which are just as stupid then you wont get sarcastic responses. Brujas Espanolas
Only problem is that ITV4 has lower audience numbers than speedway does Such a sad comment, and what's more totally wrong. To illustrate his ignorance these are the latest BARB ratings for the week ending 14/7/2013. Live Speedway - Poole v. Wolves 45,000 The Top ten ITV 4 programmes for that week all had audiences in excess of 320,000. Indeed even the time delayed ITV4+1 had an audience in excess of the speedway!!! The thing is with forums - and texting - and emails ie the written word rather than the spoken word - there is always room for ambiguity. It seemed to me as if you were saying your wanted to post messages but didnt want them to be read by anyone - which is obviously crazy. No offence intended. . . SCB
This really does work. I recommend it to other members. I have just added a couple of more names. Now they can read me but I don't have to read them. A wonderful world! I found it annoyed me. You can see the have posted just not what they have posted, it made me want to read what they posted even more. I've got 3 people on ignore but I don't suppose I have to bother about one anymore because he is residing in an Australian prison. Don't think he has access to the internet in there. Only for another month though. I wonder if he'll come back? Probably will, knowing he'll get ripped into and he can play the victim, again!
