Workington V Leicester Pl 06/07/13 19:00hrs.

Can only see a thrapping on it's way to the Lions. Maggie looked like he may have struggled last night on return from injury and only scored 1 last year at DP and with Edberg also returning from injury and having a similar poor record at DP, coupled with Bjerre being out and Graversen being Graversen i can see us struggling to hit 36 even if Nemo and Doolan hit the ground running. Not sure how Branford usually rides DP but hopefully he can retain some of his Edinburgh form and Glyn can work some confidence magic in the pits.

Pretty sure Maggie, as you call him had an excellent meeting for Scunny here not that long ago. Can't remember Branford doing much while at Redcar but he was young so could be better now. Weather bright and breezy.

Bit disturbing to hear that. I've seen what you lot call 'a breeze' :)

Al the best to the Lions

Would be nice to get back to winning ways tonight after the disappointment of the last couple of matches!! Shame Bjerre isn't riding tonight as he normally does very well here attacks the track bigstyle, Nemo should do OK as should Doolan both have vast experience of this track, not sure about the rest, Karlsson can go well at times here others not so? Should still be a decent meeting and I'm looking forward to it hopefully the guys wont be too down hearted after last night and will do us a good job? ;)

8 heats and you were correct - a thrapping!! You were wrong about Maggie though!

Good to see all the Comets scoring well tonight, back on track and clear at the top of the PL.

Must say some great vocal support from the visiting Leicester fans. Hope they enjoyed the visit and have a safe journey home

Excellent performance from the guys tonight just what the doctor ordered, convincing win and points all-round, job well done!! :t:. Leicester definitely missed Bjerre tonight, very little support to the top men from Graverson/Branford, Edberg rode far better than his 6pts would suggest and it was nice to see Doolan finally put a score together up here, he was competitive for the first time in a long while? Shame about Karlsson having to pull out late on as, despite the dodgy shoulder, was having a pretty good meeting, Nemo looked good but faded badly towards the end? For the Comets, big show from RL, tho would like him to be a bit more gracious in defeat, (Edberg rode well that race, ht13) doesn't cost owt!! Rene looked more comfortable this week as did Kyle and Rusty, big wraps for Chris and Ashley as well, far more promising performances from them, keep it up guys, and Tero will make some big points as soon as he gets his starts timed better!! Shame we cant get any matches in to keep the momentum going these breaks don't do us any good, another 2wks before our next PL match, lovely weather forecast, nowt doin, can only be a Comets fixture list? :D

Think we will get 41 points, same as last season, which got us 6th. Not sure if that will be good enough this year though.

The Lions have now scored 36 on the last 3 visits to Workington.

The team was built around us starting the season with a 9.50-10 point man on a 7 point average. Losing him after 1 match and having to replace him with a true 7.00 rider has unfortunately mapped our season out (that and losing Lewis Kerr, a rider who common sense would say would have shared his reserve spot with Lewis Blackbird for all of 1 or 2 meetings before replacing Simon Nielsen). We are similar to Ipswich last year in that we have no-one to compete with the best the other teams have to offer. The only way out of mid table fizzle is to drop Graversen and one of the top four and use the 13 points we would have to replace them with a true No1 and someone that fits with what's left in the averages. Not sure anyone who could do the job and is available though although I think Edberg could hold his own in the main body of the team if need be. Lewis Bridger & James Sargeant for Karlsson & Graversen maybe but that would maybe leave us a bit vulnerable at reserve but maybe worth the gamble how the season looks like working out? I suppose with that you would have two good young brits in and it would be nice to see Sargeant get the chance to kick on as he's looked close to making the step up all year without the opportunity to do it.

Expected a tougher match last night, the Lions not helped by r/r or Magnus withdrawing, however Edberg looked really good and deserved more than his 6pt return.

Edberg has looked good ever since signing. Not sure how he looked for Berwick but he's a totally different rider to what i was expecting when looking at his scores for the Bandits.

A solid team performance from the Comets, after Graveson nearly took Tero to the fence he scored nothing , a bit of karma there ;-) ,Edberg looks a really good reserve but thought the Lions would push us further nothing special there tbh, We are the Comets, well done guys !!

I think there is more going than we know

And wouldn't you just love that. Well if the conspiricists are to get their way then this is possibly going to be your best shot. If it doesn't come to pass then can you just do one and let the rest of us enjoy our team.
