Having had a few days to think about it, I do agree it was just a wee bit draconian to delete the entire thread. Although there was some crap in it, there was also some very good and informative stuff too, all of which has now been lost.

As to people being banned for starting new Ipswich threads when the other disappeared, I would probably have been inclined to start one too if I had actually been looking on here when it was all kicking off...a simple note explaining why a new thread was not welcome would have sufficed rather than giving people a ban without a justifiable reason.

For the well behaved contributors to that thread, it really does feel like a kick in the teeth and like class detentions at school when two or three have been playing up (something I am very very against as it doesn't work psychologically - it tends to make everyone else behave badly), we have all been put into an Ipswich detention!

It is certainly not the sort of action I would take, my method would be more removing the offending posts and posters than the entire thread.

But then, what do I know?

On a similar note, it's interesting to see that season tickets are NOT valid for the JB Memorial meeting.

From the point of view of continuity for the Witches, it's a good idea to have a team match, i.e. given that they didn't re-arranged the Scunthorpe match, or maybe get Edinburgh earlier for the LC Semi-Final.

However, not convinced that a meaningless challenge is any sort of tribute to JB. I think it would be better to dedicate the 16-Lapper to him.

Still no news on the seventh select rider ...

Is anyone planning to attend?

Must agree, its a poor effort from the promotion. JB would never have served this dull affair up IMO. An annual individual meeting for young Brits and Aussies would be more appropriate surely...

Ipswich Star gallery for last weekend's Spede Weekend, featuring the National Class Hot Rod World Championship:

That's what the attendance used to look like for speedway ...

Not so sure, we couldn't afford deckchairs in them there days that's quite comfortable(think that's less than went to Stocks as well in the past) with spaces mind you wish we got a crowd like that ...sadly I doubt we ever will again

I did think about starting a John Berry memorial thread but I might get banned again and theres not really alot to talk about apart from the fact that BB/Dak take 3 could be interesting !

Still , at least it's some Speedway to watch after last weeks away match on Thursday .

Already looking forward to the fours at Peterborough on Sunday , never been there before and the weather is supposed to be very good .

Rohan might not ride tomorrow as informed by my mate from Poole that he stated he needed a couple of days rest after that crash. Wouldn't mind if he missed tomorrow as it's only really a friendly (no disrepect to John Berry), as long as he is fit for Plymouth Friday and Peterborough Sunday,

Fingers crossed that Ben and Rohans rest day sees them fit to face Plymouth.

Will be good to see Danny at Foxhall - always good entertainment value.
