Super Blue
Am I correct in my assumption that now Adam has sadly broken his wrist that we can only use a NL guest for him ? If so what is the criteria that determines the level of rider we can draw on ? Side issue , does anyone know if Morten is ok after his withdrawal from the PLRC on Sunday ? Super Blue
Didn't Josh Bates guest for Adam earlier this season and do quite well ? I think someone of his Ilk would fit the bill as most of the other better NL guys have already achieved a 4+ average .
crescent girl
I think someone of his Ilk would fit the bill as most of the other better NL guys have already achieved a 4+ average . You will find that surprisingly few have established +4 at PL level. It is a good rule (a shock in itself, that) as it is designed to prevent "experienced" guys dropping into NL and then filling their boots with PL bookings. Moving forward, Liam Carr raced against Witches at Edinburgh ten days or so again and collected 5+2 from three races -- book him up quick! dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
I dont see this as a good rule. Why should the rule be different for each reserve? It should be possible to have a PL guest up to the riders average. This rule means other riders with a similar or indeed lower average can be replaced by a higher level guest just because their reserve partner has a lower average. eg Ashley Morris at Worky was replaced by Schrammy at the weekend because Chris Mills has lower average. TheScotsman
Doubt anyone expected Schramm to score 24+2 or whatever from 2 meetings though

Super Blue
Having looked at the NL greensheets there are quite a few NEG ( not eligible to guest ) riders in there but there are still a few that could do the job for us . Certainly my first choices appear in that NEG list . Of the rest alas Robert Lambert isn't old enough Stefan Nielsen has been shocking around Foxhall this year so the likes of Liam Carr or Josh Bates would seem to be the best options available . No doubt we will find out in the next day or so .
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Don't see why, but them's the rules so gotta live with them! Absolutely! This isnt an opinion I formed because of this situation. I have expressed it on other threads many weeks ago. Doubt anyone expected Schramm to score 24+2 or whatever from 2 meetings though but you would expect him to score more than a NL 6 pointer. TheScotsman
But he was replacing the higher scoring reserve. If it had been replacing the lower scoring one it would have had to be a NL guest. I'm not sure what point you are making?

So if a team had a No 6 averaging 5.50 and a No 7 at 5.49 do you think it is fair the No 7 has to be replaced by a N L guest? They could be riding a team with reserves at 3.90 and 3 50 who have their No 6 missing and can have a better choice of guest despite their rider averaging 2 points less. 2ndbendbeerhut
Is it confirmed that Adam Ellis is out for the season? One of these then - Liam Carr 6.97 Rob Branford 8.53 (injured)? Adam McKinna 6.04 Ben Morley 6.81 Lewis Kerr 8.00 Max Clegg 7.83 Oliver Greenwood 6.86 Josh Bates 7.55 Daniel Halsey 7.17 Ben Reade 7.70 Tom Young 7.04 Stefan Nielsen is on the list but doesn't say he cannot guest, Also why couldn't Robert Lambert guest? (age)? Edited September 23, 2013 by 2ndbendbeerhut
Baldyman
Lewis Kerr looked pretty good last Thursday, or Bates for me.
Super Blue
Robert Lambert is only 15 and can't ride PL , I didn't include Lewis Kerr for 2 reasons , he is currently on a PL average of 5.45 according to PL greensheets and of course rides for Newcastle . As I said before Stefan Nielsen has been shocking at Foxhall this year , has been here at least 3 times and im not sure he's even scored a point . 2ndbend
Might be wrong but someone told me it was announced at Mildenhall yesterday that Joe Jacobs will cover till end of season. Can anyone confirm this? Surely Josh Bates would be a better bet !

Baldyman
He done well for us at number 2 before, so that's a good choice. Is it a play off match or an outstanding league match?
