Somerset V Workington Koc 5 July

Recommended Posts

We didn't blow anything , you had the luck on the night , before last night you lot thought you were home and dry and I'm just pleased we made you work for it, we had no riders in heat 14 which IMO was the nail in the coffin !!

You had two riders in heat 14 - one of them his bike conked out and the other plowed into the fence.

Can`t quote you directly Shawn, but I`ve said the Waspels are the luckiest team in speedway for a couple of years at least....:wink::P

DB there you are ha ha ha, last night would have been perfect if you had been online till the end , gnashing and growling at the "lucky" Rebels. The whole lucky win revolves around ONE HEAT what about the other 29 over the two legs..................

Read my post again CB,I said a couple of years, not just 30 heats...:lol::P

I realize that DB , the first line of the post was for you, the second is a general response to all the disgruntled Comets who are using one heat as an excuse for not winning. I take your point though, next time I`ll set it out better.

Did you have a good night?

So Somerset got lucky because Workingtons riders can't keep their bikes going and crash? That's a lack of talent and skill from Workington.

That's a bit unfair there SCB, from what I've read our crashes were pretty good, that takes talent AND skill, especially when our lads get up and walk away!! :D

If there is an opportunity to criticise Workington then SCB usually takes it

Really? Give some exames of my criticism. Because I've not even done it on this thread.

lack of smileys make that a very harsh comment imo

its true, if you fall off who's fault is it? Your own! How often do Gollob, Holder and Hancock fall off? Edited by SCB

Holder fell off less than 48 hours ago!

To be fair as much as i like him hes prone to crashing a bit due to his all action style

6 falls in the EL in 3 seasons. Hardly excessive. Mills has had 15 falls in the same period.

Less skilled riders fall off more, its pretty obvious.

I like him hes a top rider exciting to watch and extremely fast

But this is his second horrendous crash in less than a year so im hardly talking rubbish

Andreas jonsson and nicki pedersen also crash quite a lot, wards had a few spills doesnt mean they aint top riders either

falls and injuries are all part of speedway ,from day one whatever level of the sport you ride at.so its a bit unfair to talk about the worky riders like they are some kind of novices i take it somerset are perfect in every way.. that's why they had riders coming back from injury when worky were there. . brain/mouth. engage it before fans start saying how good their team is at NOT falling off..

oh and don't forget Mr doles chain failure while leading ht 15 at Workington..

So to confirm. If a Workington rider stops then Workington are unlucky. If a Sometset rider stops then so what in the World of Workington fans on the BSF? It's equally poor prep from both riders in the real World.

I didn't say anything about Workington riders being novices. What I said is riders falling off is a lack of skill and not the oppositions good luck. Or do you think a team winning 60-30 is just their good luck that the opposition are not as good?

It's a fact that more riders fall off per meeting in the PL than the EL, does suggest that better riders don't fall off as much, doesn't it? Or maybe EL riders are lucky to stay on lol

I can't see what was harsh about it. Aarnio had bike problems in his 3rd programmed ride before just making the 2 minutes, only to plow through the tapes. When he got out of the gate in heat 14 only for his bike to let go again was no fault of the Rebels. Neither was Mills crash, as he completely lost control on his own accord.
