Yearbyred
Barker seemed to be busy shepherding his team-mates around all night, scoring 9+4 from his five rides, but what's the story with Summers and his silencer? Was it it like that for the whole meeting, will points be deducted? Anyone know the story? Don't know for certain but Summers was looking down at his bike as he crossed the line as if there was an issue with something - I assume it was the silencer coming adrift. No mention of it prior to this.
spanner47
Happy with a point, glad the silencer thing didn't make any difference to the end result (in terms of points gained).
boz
Turned out to be a very decent meeting, with plenty of talking points. Track was better but still far from ideal. Would have take. A bears win at the start, and then especially with dyer withdrawing so a happy fan tonight. That said, could possibly have been the full points. First major talking point was dyers crash in heat 3. Looked horrendous from our spot. Tungsten was in front coming out of 2nd bend with dyer on his tail. Tungsten then hit some grip, wheeled and came off, leaving dyer nowhere to go. Thankfully dyer only hit to gates bike, but caused him to stop almost immediately, somersaulting spectacularly over the handlebars. Thought it must be a collarbone at least. Ambulance on track instantly and was looked at for a good 10 minutes before carted into the back on a stretcher. County ambulance called and turns up, and then dyer walks out of ambulance, takes his place in rerun and wins it. Remarkable stuff. Did well towin a second race two before taking medical advice and withdrawing, hopefully nothing too serious. Other main talking point was heat 15. Official explanation was that the silencer dislodged itself during the race. Have to admit, thought the exclusion for that was a touch harsh, you can't expect him to stop mid race and re attach it! Also though heeps should have been excluded, as he seemed to make contact with Ulrich entering the bend when he fell. But have to be happy with the win. Ulrich I thought as excellent, unlucky in the first and last heats. Skidmore did his job, whilst a mixed bag from Aaron, either wins or lasts! Dilger was excellent, rode very well for his points and Wilko too.slightly disappointed in barker, never really seemed quick but team rode well.heeps was sensational, the fact he was not at reserve probably won us the meeting. Tungate recovered well from his spill, whilst I though lanham deserved more than he got. Was quick throughout but just outgated. Reserves did struggle a bit however.
cheekycobra
Jekyll and Hyde is how this Bears team is described on the updates - good win for them, esp. with Dyer pulling out. Adam scored a Wilk000, so Aljackal will be back with a vengance, meanwhile Wilko himself scored 8+1 from 6 - not bad! Reserves again made the difference, with 15+2 for the Bears, against Ippo's 4 measly points. Barker seemed to be busy shepherding his team-mates around all night, scoring 9+4 from his five rides, but what's the story with Summers and his silencer? Was it it like that for the whole meeting, will points be deducted? Anyone know the story? Wishful thinking, but the silencer issue was only in heat 15. You could hear the difference in the race. It either cracked or fell off. Think 2 points to 1 was a fair result in the end. The Bears scores of 10,9,8,7,7 and 6 show that the Bears were more solid through-out to take the win. Barker and Heeps stood out for Ipswich, but other than the first heat Barker never made a gate , hence the bonus points. Some good racing at times (through squinting from the dust). Best wishes to micky D. Turned out to be a very decent meeting, with plenty of talking points. Track was better but still far from ideal. Would have take. I took my eye off Dyer in heat 3 and was watching Tungate who im sure was hit by 1 of the other riders. The crash was very similar to the Sayfutdinov / Jonsson crash in the GP. Roland
Very happy with a point and to be so close with my prediction. Anyone got the detail of Summers 'silencer issue' - is it something that just affects the last heat or could it expand to the whole meeting? Best wishes to Dyer - sounds like it was some effort for him to get through 3 heats (and do so well)before having to call it a day. It fell off, round the last lap made loads more noise, he was subsequently excluded, so just as well the other boy jumped back on and sportingly finished the race. Camo certainly lead the charge in this one and in fairness looked quicker than Barker all night, good effort by all. Track was shocking, a disgrace, the Rohan/Dyer crash looked horrible and was a direct result of poor track preparation, Rohan spinning like a bastard off bend 2, then it just gripped, good night Vienna, over and out! Just looked back in this thread and have seen that "Boz" stated that Camo should have been excluded in heat 15? The referee ( a SGP one at that) obviously didn't think so, race wasn't stopped and the lad carried on. A lady (I'll use the word out of politeness, she was female) in the crowd near me shouted out at Heeps as he departed the track......"you're a ****** ******". That is not required thank you......he's a teenage boy 10 thousand miles from home making his way in the world, have you ever done anything with your life? Again over and out!! I stand by what I said, from my angle it looked like definite contact as Heeps moved to block Ulrich. You're right, the referee didnt give it and as we all know ref's never get anything wrong.. That being said, no rider deserves that kind of abuse and he was superb all evening. Thankfully for us he was not at reserve.

Jonny the spud
What keeps happening to Ipswich threads in here ???? MOD NOTE: Is there any point in REPEATING ad nauseum what is on the last post in the thread still visible? Still, the time taken up having to do so takes away from time sorting through all the abuse and unacceptable language on the thread so it will just take even longer

I shouldn't hold your breath Bash, I did this a couple of days ago and as yet I've had no reply. Now it's just leading to fans of other clubs starting threads in our name just to get them locked which looks bad on our club, ho hum. To be fair, I think Steve Irving started another one in good faith judging by his comments on the thread, which have now been deleted, and not just to get it locked. the deleted threads looked bad enough on your club, without you blaming fans of other clubs. Don't be silly. You know full well why the threads were locked, and it's because of ONE individual troll. It doesn't look bad on the club at all, that's just ridiculous. I thought that thread was started in good faith also...Fair enough he was a troll, but the personal abuse was out of order!! Insinuating he was a nonce was bang out if order for a start....the amount of petty teenage arguing, name calling and sheer trolling from a few grown men was pathetic and embarrassing. Anyway good win for redcar....
