lucifer sam
DIAMONDS TO PROVIDE STERN TEST FOR SCORPIONS HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions’ improved form over the last fortnight will be put to a stern test by the Newcastle Diamonds at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday evening (7.30pm). The Scorpions have picked up hefty wins in the last two meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway, with victories over Sheffield (63-31) and Glasgow (59-35). Promoter Rob Godfrey is under no illusion that Newcastle will be tougher opponents, but remains confident that the Scorpions can win on Friday. He said: “The Diamonds are a quality side, no doubt about that, and we need to be firing on all cylinders for this meeting. “With all due respect to Sheffield and Glasgow, it’s during this meeting where we will find out just how far we have progressed. “It won’t be easy. But we have already beaten Newcastle by seven points around the Eddie Wright Raceway this season (in the Premier Shield), and I believe we can pull off a similar or better result again. “The last two meetings have been a terrific confidence booster to the side. We’ve seen landmark maximums for Thomas Jørgensen (first in British Speedway), Ashley Birks (first for Scorpions at PL level) and Lewis Blackbird (first at PL level). “Ash is just on fire at the moment. He was kicking himself for falling in the final race and not picking up another maximum last week, but it was still another tremendous performance from him. “Lewis also won the National League Pairs with Dudley at the weekend, so he’s really on a roll. “We’ve also seen real glimpses that David Howe, Michael Palm Toft and Ryan Douglas are also heading in the right direction.” Godfrey is predicting another cracking night of action at the Eddie Wright Raceway. He added: “Last week’s meeting against Glasgow provided some incredible action, including a Heat 13 that had to be seen to be believed as Josh Auty charged in between Joe Screen and James Grieves in the way that only Josh can. “Newcastle have some riders who are quality performers around our track, such as Stuart Robson, Andrew Tully and Richie Worrall. So I can’t see the racing being anything other than superb once more on Friday.” Admission Prices for Friday: Adult: £14.00 Student/OAP: £12.00 Child (10 - 16): £5.00 Child (0 - 9) Free (accompanied by paying adult) Family Ticket £33 (2 adults, 2 Children 10-16) Match Programme: £1.00 Teams for Friday (English unless stated): Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Well you can wait a bit longer, Scunny are going to win tonight A night of sunshine and top racing ahead, and hopefully a win of 7 points or more for the Scorpions, the 2012 Premier League champions. StevePark
I'd settle for a point tonight. We've never been that good around the EWR, but, you never know, we might just be in the mood to go there and win!

Newcastle are a hell of a side if they win it will not be a surprise to me.The diamonds have a few riders who will improve Robbo and (Henry who is well underrated) a very solid unit they are a very good team will be challenging at the end of the season! The White Knight
All down to Lindgren IMO. A fair call Dave. I don't know what has prompted this alarming loss of Form but he needs to get back on track (no pun intended) and quickly. (no pun intended there either).
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
All down to Lindgren IMO. and maybe Michael from Middlesborough!! Wink!

diamond_ren
Well done Ludvig Lindgren that might keep a few of the "Snipers" quiet for a while..who:s turn is it for the flack now??? Why?? Every season he has a loss of form at some point. And to be fair some of his away scores during his time with us have been well pathetic, for someone with his experience

Tsunami
The guy cant win...hope he doesn't read to much forum flak flingers crap.... Thing is C40, that he knows how badly he has been doing, and has had to change his pit crew and he has shown improvement since it happened. I think it has hurt him, especially financially, but he seems a lot happier now.
Arson fire
The guy cant win...hope he doesn't read to much forum flak flingers crap.... he can win?? If we are not performing well at our job what happens?? He's been letting the team down a lot lately, do you want people to say he's been great?, when he hasn't. Thing is C40, that he knows how badly he has been doing, and has had to change his pit crew and he has shown improvement since it happened. I think it has hurt him, especially financially, but he seems a lot happier now. exactly, he's done something about it... Good for him. montie
Great ride by Josh Auty to pass Richie inheat 15, once Richie had made the gate I was sure he was clear and gone but somehow Josh managed to get past...good race As ever Newcastle good value around Scunny...think a fair result, Some "interesting" first bend decisions by the ref also I thought too,
