Shadders
Yeah true I suppose. I feel sorry for you and the other rye fans having to watch that every week. Shocking team put together at the start of the season to be fair have been hit by injuries but that just highlights even more how weak your team was when your missing Ollen and Garrity. One bit of advice if Doolans your guest for Thursday and Friday save your money and watch the highlights We'll have Aspegren in the side by then, so no r/r. No news on guests number one yet. But in the speedway star the usual once Garrity's fit he'll be replacing Aspegren? Crazy I know Silvers loyal to his riders but replace Lambert with Aspegren and get Garrity down at reserve just what he should've done at the start of the season though, just one thing is Aspegren related to Berwicks? Garritys broken bones aren't healing as expected, so he'll be out for a while yet, although Saturdays programme notes mentioned next week! As far as I know the Aspegrens aren't related, but I can't be positive.

Allens injuries will keep him out for a while yet, so we're really buggered

Chewbacca
Of course a weakened Rye House also had the misfortune to turn up just after the Diamonds would have received a right bollocking for their own recent poor form.

Tsunami
After the banana slides of recent weeks, this seemed to be the meeting that would get us back track. Unfortunately it took till heat 5 before the score of a heat was a fair reflection of the actual riding. Henry's engine failure on a 5-1, Kerr's off when his throttle struck, Luddi's puncture on a 5-1, Schramm's rearing after holding off Bunyan and the awkward Lambert for 3 3/4 laps, had meant we were 2 points down instead of 17-6 in front. After that we gated and won easily with only Mellgren giving any real opposition. Very poor for a Rye House side who for years were a team to watch out for in the same way as Sheffield, Edinburgh, IOW, etc. How times change eh. Very pleased to see Luddi back to his best, although his flirtation with the 4th bend fence was becoming to cause the old ticker to stop at times.Christian sold again, same for Kerr after a possibly dangerous off hurtling into the third bent with his throttle stuck open and only stationary just before the fence. Lucky Kerr last night, but he wasn't injured and that was the main thing. Schramm would not have been my first choice to replace Steve, but after his good debut at Somerset when he was the only Diamond to improve on his average, the expectations were a tad higher and I hoped he could stay on the bike. I say that cos I was at Berwick two weeks ago and balance was not exactly Chris's speciality. Last night showed he could gate, he could fight, he could delay better riders and also stay on his bike to secure two decent 2nd places. Welcome to the team Chris, the team suit is in the post. Lastly of course we have the maximum men Andrew and Richie, although they were earned with different situations on the track. Andrew had to work hard in his 4 ride paid one and did wonders to shield off Lyyke whilst nursing a slowing Kerr in heat 12, and only just managed to put his bike in a position to stop ma run of Lyyke to the line. Great team riding and lovely to see. Richie, pure class and, even when pushed out on the first bend just wound it on and coasted past the other riders. This guy is untroubled class and it has been great to see him week after week, from the beginning to this now almost finished product. Robbo seemed a bit down especially when he got his slide into the first bend all wrong in heat 10 but remounted unhurt, and then looking down at his engine during heat 13. Good think was the he come out immediately after heat 15 to test it, and was joined by Schramm on his second bike First one not good to turn and he switched bikes with much better result and style. Back on track again now, with some important meetings to come in both the PL and the LC semis and hopefully the final. Interestingly,George in his proggie notes for last night, said the last two meetings scores from the refs for the track have been 9 out of 10. Well last night was no exception uptill, after grading mid meeting, when it rose to 9.5 out of 10. Redcar eat your heart out.

Shadders
Is it not Pontus Aspgren different surname? It is indeed, as pointed out by Cyclone in post #26... Bloody awkward when doing updates! Let's hope he's more consistent than his (near) namesake Edited July 2, 2013 by Shadders
