Newcastle Diamonds V Rye House Rockets Pl 30th June 2013 At 6.30pm

Recommended Posts

Newcastle need to get back to winning ways and why not do it in style against a Rye side that doesn't look as strong as our recent tormentors Ipswich, Edinburgh and Somerset. George English needs to get the best out of our riders, some of whom have dipped a bit since the start of the season. The Diamonds are a quality side, that much is certain but they do need to kick on through the next few weeks otherwise we will not get any honours. Can they do it? Yeah they can but we need Luddo and Tully to up their scoring.Welcome to Chris Schramm. You only need to score 5 or 6 points a match Chris and we will do better than when Steve was in the team suffering from an attack of low confidence and haven't we all had one of those. I hope we see Steve back in the team maybe 2014 Newcastle to get into the 50s against RH

Give Tully a chance remember he's coming back from a very serious injury. Lindgrens more of a worry i'd say..... Also if we come up against a side with a "proper" number 1 we struggle! The last 2 weeks at brough, ben barker and craig cook have been beaten once in 10 rides now I know there good riders no doubting that but away number 1s shouldn't be coming here and scoring maximums for fun.... Our heatleaders should be beating them at home.

If every 'Diamond' rides to his ability I think we have the best all round Team in the Premier League. We may not have the 'out and out' Number One like some Clubs, but what we DO have is strength in depth. To be honest - I am happy with that.

he has gone well round brough before, but surely there were better options...or probably more expensive options.

Think you hit the nail on the head with the latter. Was meant to be Grajczonek until he realised he had a Polish meeting

Gonna be an absolute slaughter.

Whatever the result, the Rye House 'house' report will reflect one of two things about them ...either magnificent in victory or glorious in defeat!

You can add "bad luck" to that.

Expect to read something along the lines of, "the Rockets preparation was hampered by the late finish at Hoddesdon the previous evening". There ya go, instant excuse

Not a meeting to remember. Expected the Diamonds to win comfortably but had also expected Doolan and particularly Nelson to provide good opposition and in Nelson’s case plenty of entertainment after his spectacular performances here a couple of years ago.

Unfortunately both had pretty dismal nights with only Mellgren, in patches, providing any kind of threat. Indeed had Henry and Lindgren not packed up while comfortably leading their opening rides then this would have been even more one sided.

At least Lindgren, even accounting for the mediocre opposition, looked a lot better tonight – just frustrating that he didn’t have this form in the last two home matches. Lewis Kerr also had a much better home night after an opening race fall and Chris Schramm battled hard and picked up a solid paid win in his final ride.

Richie was a class above everyone else despite not gating as well as normal.

Busy weekend next week for the Diamonds and a good opportunity to reach the League Cup Final against an injury hit Sheffield side. Looking at the averages they won’t be able to use Barker or Cook up here now and Cook is riding next Sunday anyway.

Think yourself lucky the points we threw away in the first few heats...... Mellgren apart you's were pathetic. One question Doolan just why?

Lose by 7 or 30, still leave pointless. I'm just relieved I didn't make the journey. Doing Redcar and Scunny next week, expecting to lose both, but not by 30!!!

Yeah true I suppose. I feel sorry for you and the other rye fans having to watch that every week. Shocking team put together at the start of the season to be fair have been hit by injuries but that just highlights even more how weak your team was when your missing Ollen and Garrity. One bit of advice if Doolans your guest for Thursday and Friday save your money and watch the highlights
