oldtimer
Jason Doyle is now number one for Birmingham in the new averages, so has there ever been a rider who was number 1 for an Elite team and a Premier team a the same time?

Sotonian
Andy Grahame for Milton Keynes and Birmingham in, I think, 1979.
jenga
being a number 1 in the lite league aint all that its cracked up to be. the so called elite is full of double uppers,r/r and untried riders and an awful lot of pl guys so its not big deal being the top banana in the lite league. but in the premier, its a whole new ball game. but it does deserve a mention on this site. so does that show that the lite league is poor or what.. daveallan81
Andy Grahame for Milton Keynes and Birmingham in, I think, 1979. Andy Grahame's entry in the 1980 yearbook reads: "Despite several injuries qualified for both the Gauloises National League Riders' Championship and Gauntlet British League Championship Finals - the first rider in history to do so." His NL average with Milton Keynes was 9.47 from 27 matches, his BL average with Birmingham was 7.68 from 25 matches. Billy Sanders, who left the Brummies for Ipswich at the start of September, averaged 9.32 from his 26 matches.
mdmc82
Will it still be only a PL guest when Doyle is missing for Somerset duties?

So to confirm, it's easier to be a number 1 in the EL as its got lots of PL riders than it is to be a number 1 in the PL which is exclusively PL riders? Loving the logic. NeilWatson
Will it still be only a PL guest when Doyle is missing for Somerset duties? 18.2.1 In the Elite League: a) Absent #1: G or RR Absent Rider (2 – 5) RR c) More than 1 Absent Rider (1 – 5) 1 x RR facility and G for all others d) Absent #6: G or PL G (using Converted MA *) e) Absent #7: PL G (using Converted MA*) f) Absent #6 and #7 Riders: G or PL G (using Converted MA*) for the absent #6, a PL G (using Converted MA*) g) Absent D-U Rider (1 - 5): RR h) More than 1 Absent D-U Riders (1–5): RR with PL G ** (using converted MA*) for all others at Team Manager’s choice i) Doubling Up Rider(s) (6 or 7) / (6 & 7): PL G **(using converted MA*) j)“No Facility”: PL G (MA of 6.00 or less) *Note 1: The minimum converted MA shall not be less than 6.00 **Note 2: If the Replacement PL Rider has a current EL MA then the higher of the MA’s will dictate the eligibility. A ORLOV
So does (a) absent no I - G or RR, override (g) absent d/u rider - RR only. Someone did not see this coming did they.

No Facilities are different for DU riders in all positions as shown in (g), (h) and (i).

Loving the logic. Agree it's easier now in the watered down Elite, but Birmingham have Chris, "I should be in the GP's," Harris so Doyle must be included in the Aussie World Cup squad. Will he stay at Somerset next season?

SCB
Charlie Gjedde may have been at number 1 in the averages for Swindon and Oxford in 2003. It's the only possible time I can think of.

Im positive he averged more in the EL with us than he did with Swindon in the PL - I cant remember if he ever got to number 1 though, maybe number 3 from memory

I would check the year books but I have them packed away.

It's the only possible time I can think of. I'm a little drunk now, so i'll say sorry in advance just in case...but what is Gjedde up to now ? He used to drive me mad when he rode at Smallmead.
