Boobs
Following the clash with the Scottish Cup Final (soccer variety) last month, the next visit of the Monarchs to Ashfield has been neatly timed to coincide with the Mens' Final at Wimbledon. It is a week away, and anything is possible, but if Andy Murray is in that Final once again there will be a number, a goodly number, of people -- not the hardcore committed fans, but the vital-to-the-cashflow floaters -- who will choose to watch the tennis. What is it about these derby matches? Don't the compilers, or rather the clubs involved, look ahead when the fixtures are being allocated? I'm quite sure a tennis final or even the final round of the British Open golf ( which regularly clashes with the speedway too ) isn't a major consideration when compiling fixtures . There's also the British F1 GP clashing with this Sunday's meeting , plus the Eastenders omnibus on a Sunday . Seems the only reasonable course of action is to switch to a Friday night at Glasgow , to avoid all these sporting clashes .

JakeDaniels
Think if we don't sign a heat leader before then a lot of the hardcore fans will be watching the tennis too... Andy Murray or not. Joey Ringwood now has an average, I presume 3 or marginally above. Need to utilise the points we have, Ricky Ashworth would be nice.

Totally agree instead of telling the fan's to be positive they should make sure that we have something on track to be positive about how the hell can we be positive any more when we haven't won for 2 months talk is cheap and there are a growing few who now see this.

Ashworth hasn't ridden for 2 months and doubt he could get back into the points quickly, its going to be hard enough with Compton and Raun. A new signing though to use our full points would be welcome, however which position is best to use them. We have misfired in each position, even Screen has been inconsistent, JG has taken a point off his starting average, Bager has been truly awful in the main, and they are the experienced riders. If we do sign a heatleader it will likely need to be a doubling down rider who will score from the start and finding one of those to ride on a Sunday is ....................... Paulco
Terrible timing, another low crowds in derby matches are the last thing glasgow need right now Who says that will happen ? The last public flogging we got in the League Cup at Ashfield was administered in front of a decent sized crowd despite some silly football match going on elsewhere . I cant see the Wimbledon final , with or without Andy Murray , impacting too much . People going on holiday to Turkey , namely me , will have more of an affect on the size of the crowd that day
Fromafar
Terrible timing, another low crowds in derby matches are the last thing glasgow need right now With today's TV technology rewinds ect.I don't think it effects crowd levels if the fans want to watch speedway they will turn up IMO.Team Strenghts might be the deciding Factor in this one iI fear
scotchopper
I can only speak for my dad and I, we normally go through to ashfield for monarchs matches but were at the cup final and will probably choose the tennis if Murray is in the final. That's 2 down and there are bound to be others. I am a big user of sky+ and would love to do both but a scot with a chance of winning Wimbledon is live viewing for me. Glad to hear the crowd at the League cup match wasn't as bad as predicted. Point I am making was without the clash there would have been a bigger crowd and that is likely to be the case again. SCOTLAND1314
I'll be hopefully popping through to use my discount voucher as a result of our last visit. Any idea if Mitchell Davey will be returning in time for this one? Would be good to get the Blue and Gold back to full strength. Tennis .. jings. Does the Golden Child stay at reserve or does Tobacco Joe return there , or even Desperate Deek dropping down ?
SCOTLAND1314
What's the script with the Green sheets mate . Does the Golden Child stay at reserve or does Tobacco Joe return there , or even Desperate Deek dropping down ? I think Max is still on an assessed average of 5.00 (as he has had 5 home 3 away matches in PL), Derek is currently on 5.79 and Joe 5.29 (both without bonus values). So based on that Max will be at reserve for the Ashfield Glasgow match. After that I'm not that clear, but I believe Max will then get a true average after that Ashfield match (as this will bring him up to 4 away matches minimum requirement) but when that comes into effect I'm not sure (it has been mentioned approx 14 July). Max is currently on 6.56/5.64 with and without bonus so it'll be close as to who ends up at reserve in due course. Mr Blobby
After Sunday when Max gets his average he goes back into the main body of the team and Tabaka goes back to reserve.
