Cockney Rebel
Feel sorry for Rye fans, very week team to start with, then the injuries to Allen and Garrity.... Uncle Len has shafted them this season IMO. Mmm? Have to disagree there. The Rockets were written off before the season started, then they ran Ipswich very close at Foxhall beat Plymouth very easily down there and knocked both sets of Tigers out of the cup. many forumers, if that's a word, were saying how surprised they were at how well the Rockets were going. Unfortunately after that the injuries piled up. Bunyan and Lambert both probably came back a week or two too early. I can't see how Uncle Len could be blamed for that. Considering how well they started the season does any body think that the results of the last few matches would have been the same? You can't legislate for your top two riders being injured, how would Somerset be without Doyle and Morris or Newcastle without Robson and Jerome, sorry Worrral.? (Musical flashback there but I'm OK now).
SCB
I'll chip in here, pre-season I said Rye were rubbishe. They started well and had to admit I was probably a bit unfair. But since then Nelson and the reserves scoring has dropped back more to where it should be. Add int he loss of Garrity who was doing a lot more than I expected this season and now Allen and Rye House were always going to struggle now. I think they're actually doing sort of OK really taking into account pre-early season expectations (although if Len had built the team properly they would have been higher, no idea why he signed Lambert) and the injuries. Mike.Butler
Regarding the number 8, he could have only ridden in heat 3. The reserves rides would still have been blanks so it would have barely made a difference. why couldn't he have ridden in heat 10 then? Star Lady
I was a longtime paramedic for the London Ambulance Service and you statement re multi casualties coveyed in one vehicle is incorrect. Had you been right then both would have travelled in the county vehicle last night, indeed many vehicles nowadays are incapable of conveying two ambulatory patients Equally two ambulances would still require a paramedic for each vehicle and the expense is simply too much. Sorry didn't make myself clear. I know it would probably need 2 vehicles to take the casualties to hospital. My point was providing there are sufficient competent resources available to deal with more than one casualty in the immediate aftermath of a crash, 1 vehicle is acceptable. In an ideal world yes two would be great but sadly we have to be realistic and many tracks could not afford the extra expense. SCB
why couldn't he have ridden in heat 10 then? You're right. I dont know why but i was thinking 3 of the R/R rides were taken.
flagrag
I made a rare visit to Rye House last night as a nice evening , What happened was that 2 county ambulances were called at the same time to take both riders off to hospital one arrived very quickly but as the ambulance service had been advised that multiple casualties from a motorbike accident including one with possible internal bleeding and pelvic/thigh injuries. The hospital sent a urgent care doctor to the track who then took control of the situation and gave Rose morphine and put him on a drip he then said that he was not prepared to wait for 2nd ambulance so track ambulance had to take him also the suspected injuries would mean extra caution over any speedbumps or potholesThis is all fact as came from a track official. I was very pleased to see that both riders did not receive any broken bones in the crash. Onto the meeting Somerset did so well to get a point and Nick Morris looked very good, Rye should have let them get back into it. On a side note I am sorry to say the Fish and chips is nowhere near as good as previously with frozen chips and suspect fish as well. I can understand the reasoning for this when a meeting gets rained off the club then get lots of waste with fish and potatoes
Najjer
Call me a cynic or what, but I actually said to Shadders before the race to expect a 5-1... Even more so when Nick missed the gate... The only time he did all meeting as he was exceptional in every other ride! Should add though my congratulations too to Somerset on a magnificent display of team and tactical work! They deserved the point and then some! Cynic indeed - it was plan to see Nick dropped the clutch, only to stop himself, as the tapes flew up leaving him stranded. He went straight for the outside and had to lay it down to avoid Doolan. A staggering result for the Rebels, still can't believe we came home with a point which made the journey all that bit sweeter. The celebrations was like we had won the league.. but that will be in October
