Coventry Vs Mildenhall 28/06

Sad as it may sound, so looking forward to this Friday meeting between Coventry and Mildenhall.

Not since my teenage years of Olsen, Molyneux and Shirra (I guess even Gugliemi too later on) have I been so interested in going along to my local track just 3 miles from where I live.

I have mentioned before about my 7 year old enjoying the sport and she anxious to come along to her 3rd successive Storm meeting. my 22 year old son, for whom we used to travel around the country watching the bees (great memories of panthers meetings too) is also very keen again after seeing his first Storm meeting against Stoke. My old man (78) might even be tempted again - he moaned as always but think deep down he enjoyed it (he as a Brandon born lad and painted the inner white line in the 1950's !) So that's maybe 40 quid in your pocket mr Horton and a freebie for the future. Will shake you by the hand if you interested on Friday night.

The best thing to happen with Coventry and speedway in the last few years.

Hope the weather is as good as forecast and you get a decent gate and superb track to match

Great team you have got together and some superb guys trying hard (especially Martin Knuckey)

Good luck guys

Same here Markyb.

My 8 year-old granddaughter was team mascot for the EL meeting against Eastbourne and now she is totally hooked and wants to go to all the EL and NL meetings. This is exactly what we need to be doing to attract the next generation of speedway supporters.

Mick & Neil are definately doing all the right things at Brandon and I think it shows with attendances etc.

Back to the meeting. Good luck to the Storm on Friday, this should be a good test for the team and looking forward to seeing 16 year-old James Shanes making his debut. :t:

Don't be sad, I've been to many a NL meeting with my association with Robert over the past 3 years and I know where my money would be going given the choice. If you can get to Milldenhall Sunday as well, that will be a cracker.

Does anyone know who is replacing Rob Branford on Friday as he is down to be at Edinburgh with Leicester in the PL?

I'd hazard a guess at Lewis Rose or it could be a trick question and R/R is guesting

I doubt considering the importance of this fixture Storm will want to go in with RR, if anyone gets injured, they will be up the creek without a paddle. So without looking at PL fixtures Im thinking Ash Morris, Lewis Blackbird, Paul Starke, Charles Wright, Lewis Kerr, Steve Worrall, someone of that ilk.

Looking outside right now, if Coventry has had the same weather that we have had since mid afternoon yesterday, there appears little chance of this taking place... ridiculous british weather.

Yes, lots of rain since about 4.00pm yesterday unfortunately. The track might be able to cope with it though if we don't get too much more!
