Edinburgh Monarchs V Leicester Lions (pl) 28 June 2013

Any Leicester fans joining in the festivities?

Weather has been Bermuda like up here for weeks... well sort of.

Another potentially tough fixture for the Blue & Gold, at the time of writing it's unclear to me if any of the injury list will be back for the home men.

I hear they are transferring the sand in from Saltcoats they are also providing free wellies and protective clothing for anyone brave enough to venture on to the sand.

Rumour had it you are coming through in your mankini and knotted hanky... ;-)

Leicester team line up unknown

Leicester managers glyn taylor, david hemsley & yulia hemsley (latter only for heat 15)

you couldnt make it up LOL

hope this is an exciting meeting and the weather is good in scotland.

What's the situation re manager?

If you put 60+ on the comets, it will be easy pickings on Friday too.

I think Bjerre, Doolan, Nieminen and Karlsson have all ridden well around The Dale in the recent past so it could be closer than you think.

No Bjerre he has been gifted the wild card for the world u21 final round 1.

Alex Edberg is also missing at the moment with ligament damage so a guest is availble which is TBC

Major rider revolt at Leicester. The rumours that Yulia Hemsley is the new team manager are untrue. Yulia is purely doing the team talks & making suggestions for heat 15 picks which if Glyn doesn't agree with he will get sacked.

Nothing surprises me about Leicester 1 drama to another life is certainly not boring following the lions

That's a shame about Bjerre not going to be at The Dale.

Bizarre re the manager situation, not sure I quite understand what's going on.

Not sure the lions fans know whats going on either. LOL

seems the promotors wife has taken over team talks, the promotor upsets the riders and the team manager drives a tractor

The Leicester promotion sound horrid! I don't like the sound of these people. Glyn Taylor should take a walk, Just for the sake of his own dignity! If the rumours are true that is!

Reading through the threads it appears most promotions appear to have their issues, especially in a high pressured environment, at least in some supporters eyes and these issues are normally 'enhanced' by certain quarters to suit their agendas. If there are issues then lets hope they get it sorted and move on and go to Edinburgh and do their best. Again not defending the indefensible just supporting my club. There seemed to be no refusal to do post match interviews as they went on as normal and the first I heard there was any trouble was 2nd hand in the bar. Again why shouldn't Julia Hemsley engage with the team at the end of the day it's her investment as well as it is a family business. one thing I haven't seen is DH give the team a dressing down on websites and the SS like other promotions calling their riders best part of useless etc.....

Absolutely bang on , Why shouldn't Julia Hemsley have her say , In fact on a similar theme why not have a competition in the local paper to be team manager for the evening or track curator , these speedway riders think they have a right to do as they please. Just because they are risking life and limb and have reached a high standard , They think they can just do as they please regardless of any advice given to them by a russian woman who knows as much about speedway as the checkout girl at Wilko ,

I wouldn't know how much she knows about speedway but that doesn't mean she can't learn and being a woman she will probably learn a darn sight faster.

Putting the sexist nonsense aside, one of the problems at Leicester is that for the last three years Mr Hemsley has been learning how to be a speedway promoter. The evidence continually shows he has learned very little. Maybe the BSPA were wrong to licence someone with no previous speedway background. Maybe the BSPA should have supported him more.
