trophykid
I'm a potter exiled in Plymouth, so im not able to comment in all fairness. But what the hell has been going on this last week? These really are disastrous defeats.
Mad Potter 2
Well that was embarrassing to-night. First time in watching speedway home or away for over 50yrs, that I have walked out on a meeting before the end.

vog
Shambolic from Stoke. The promotion needs to sell up and fast, because they are dragging stoke to its grave Edited June 22, 2013 by vog

Craftman
Worst Stoke team I've ever seen , truly aweful and a disgrace to the club. Even if Tattum was willing to sell , who in their right mind would buy the club ? I swear some of the riders were riding bloody lawnmowers tonight . I looked up the meaning of the word embarrassing after getting back - it said Stoke Potters I'm afraid

SCSA
And Finally folk are beginning to see the light regarding those lot who play at running the speedway down at Stoke, this lot will be the death if it, they closed it once and it will happen again, clueless, inept and embarrassing are some of the words you could use to describe the place and its rulers, time to go, just sell up and get the hell out of dodge, you are killing speedway in Staffordshire.
vog
What happened with Kyle Hughes? Blew 2 engines last week, managed to cobble one together for tonight, and it broke.
Baldy
First home meeting I have missed since......not sure where Stoke go from this. Kyle has no bikes as he has blown his engines; pity as the best rider Stoke have by far on good bikes. Time will tell if he has the finance or the willingness to put the money into speedway as it seems to be smacking him in the teeth. IF the promotion sold up, there isn't the riders about to re-build now. A few have shown promise this year but no matter what sport you are in, if you get stuffed a few times, it takes the edge off you. Long hard season left for the Potters. Gemini
Well done The Storm. Didn't go to this as I was making my first visit of the season to my local track (Leicester) but I'll be there on Friday and also hope to go to the Buxton meeting on July 7th. villiers210
Impartial spectator at Stoke last night. Have to say that was possibly the most lack lustre performance I have seen from any team in over half a century. Just what IS going on at Stoke? Everywhere you looked in the pits there were glum faces. The only sign of anything that could be described as encouraging was Shaun Tedham. I honestly find this situation now as a double edged sword. The NL cannot afford to lose any more teams as it is struggling with what it has to compete meaningfully. On the other hand, speedway being presented to a paying public like this is just dragging the sport further into the abyss. If you think I'm going over the top - you obviously weren't there last night. It's not just the team, it's everything about the running of the place. A typical "for instance" is that by the time heat 15 came round the track lights were put on. Well, they were on at one end of the track and not the other!!!! Message to those concerned - sort it or lose it. The public will not carry on supporting a shambolic venture. I don't want to take anything away from Coventry though. Well done to them. As a Lions supporter I have donated on many occasions to help riders out. When a rider finds themselves in trouble the resources are found to help out. Last night Doolan was presented with a new set of Kev's (my name is on the sky leg yehaaa'). money was contributed to KH at Leicester when he rode there even for a short time but then 'no speedway' is still too raw in the Lions supporters minds. I imagine that eventually that mentality wil fade as the memory of 'no speedway' fades until it returns. Maybe the supporters could do the same at Stoke Edited June 23, 2013 by TMW
vog
Alas, we haven't been able to have a supporters club since the promotion shut it down. They also don't like us collecting for individual riders.
greyhoundp
Alas, we haven't been able to have a supporters club since the promotion shut it down. They also don't like us collecting for individual riders. And this is one of the short sighted decisions made by the Stoke promotion, they feel that is money that could be spent in the Bar or café rather than towards riders help funds, there cannot be any other reason behind such a move. Maybe the supporters could do the same at Stoke If there was enough supporters at Stoke it would make a big difference, support is dropping so quickly, it can only be a matter of time if the trend continues before it goes. It is supporters like you that makes the riders realize that they are important and thought of by the paying public and I think it is great that you have sponsered. I'm a strange one in that I put up with an awful lot and then just give up on the thing. Been watching at Loomer Rd since 1977 and for many years traveled to away meetings but what I have known but put to the back of my mind is that speedway no longer "does" it for me. I was helping a friend with a new caravan at Overstrand in the week and took the chance to call in at the track to see the Potters at Kings Lynn. Lambert was just way to good for the rest and so where the rest of his pals. Unfortunately there was little or no racing at all and until speedway gets to having equally crafted riders on the track I cannot see me going back. Last year riders at Stoke were finishing 1/2 to 3/4 of a lap in front of others and has continued in to this year and I not willing to go and stand and watch one maybe two reasonable races a night. I want to see Lambert race....but against riders of his standard. I would pay to watch riders of Tedham stand; but against riders of his ability. I know at 15 Robert is too young to ride Premier or Elite; not sure the reasoning behind it as he is going against lads of all ages in this league as he would in the other leagues. Just the the 20 odd age in this league are not as good and he ends up miles in front riding solo. No fun for me. Really do hope that Stoke get it together and that all that go will be able to carry on their enjoyment but sorry, it's not for me. People will say you must carry on or it will fold; I have even said it myself in the past but this at present (speedway in general and Stoke in particular) are too boring and painful to watch.
