Glasgow Tigers V Berwick Bandits Pl 23/6/13 @3p.m.

screen got 11 points! how does that seem like an uninterested rider??? how can you say a poor looking team when the bandits (who put in an excellent performance) have a far better team than Glasgow and won by only only 2 points??? if anything I thought this was a very close meeting and a massive improvement for Glasgow compared to the last few weeks, I doubt there will be many home defeats on the way as its unlikely that Glasgow will come up against many teams with the strength and depth that Berwick have.

You were beaten at home by a mid table side IMO! who only had 4 riders who scored points really on the day

How is that an improvement???

4 riders is hardly strength in depth,it maybe was a massive improvement compared to the last few weeks but there are still stronger Teams than Berwick to visit IMO.Hope you can get a few Home wins together as you have a good bunch of loyal fans .

4 riders scoring well above there averages. Doesn't matter that they were beaten by a mid table side, Glasgow are one of the worst teams in the league right now the point I was making was that they were narrowly beaten by a much better team & compared to the hammerings they have taken over the weeks & the effort the riders put in yesterday I thought it was a massive improvement. (IMO)

It was an improvement from previous weeks from a Glasgow viewpoint we are having a difficult time at the minute and we have these Monarchs coming on and sharing there superior knowledge anyway i have been told not to interact with you ;)

Glasgow are having a difficult season, anyone can see that, but they are trying there best...okay so far they haven't won much at all , but the effort is there, and some of the boys have spent a fortune trying to fix problems....that with our new boys not having raced for sometime it was always going to be difficult against Berwick....Most of the Glasgow fans appreciate what the new promotion are trying to achieve and we live in hope that things will improve for us....The promotion have run up a huge phone bill trying to get top riders to come to Glasgow ,but the minute they hear it is a Sunday race day then it is no thanks Poland comes first!! But the team we have , I will support through good times and bad....BUT what gets on my nerves is the CONSTANT jibes from SMUGVILLE aka Monarch supporters about how bad we are and how wonderful it is that we are getting beat....Yes Monarchs have a great team and will be right up there at the end of the season and I have congratulated them on their efforts many times this season, as I genuinely love good speedway , and give credit where credit is due. When Glasgow won the league in 2011 , I did not see Glasgow fans berating the monarchs to the extent that we are experiencing this season...So come on Edinburgh fans give us a break...rant over

Dorothy yes there are some Monarch's having a right good laugh at our expense but they are in the minority but in general most are ok I.E Youngy & Davy H to name a couple we have banter yes but that is all it is we just need to rise above the minority as we have them also and concentrate on turning thing's around

It's interesting to note that Joe Jacobs scored 8+3 yet the only opposing riders he beat we're the Berwick reserves Starke and Carr, thought Compton had a decent debut if there had been abit more grip on the outside I think he would have had a few more points for his efforts. Its was abit gate and go although there were some brave 1st bends from both Teams.Score was close enough throughout to make it interesting.

Totally agree, Dot. I think they forget sometimes that Glasgow Speedway has literally had to start from scratch again.

Dorothy, i personally think that all of us from smugville want a strong Glasgow, i know i do, it is only when racing against ourselves that i want them to be mince.

I dont think the banter has been too much, but this is probably because we are doing well.

When Glasgow were doing well I felt that your supporters were berating us all the time but they probably werent, its all about perceptions, when you are down it is like the whole world is against you.

It is strange how Newcastle can regularly track such a good team on a sunday, maybe youse need to change the way you make up the team but i am no expert.

Keep the faith through the bad times as both sets of supporters need each other.

onwards and upwards.

(i may get into trouble for this :o

Jonas Raun looked reasonably smooth at the Individual Meeting yet yesterday he looked like he was out of control on several occasions. Riders were busting a gut to try and race but it just wasnt happening. Henning lifted on several occasions coming out of the 4th Bend, he had the experience to get the bike back down. Others werent so fortunate. Close meetings where we get beaten i can tolerate, but yesterdays offering im afraid not. Perhaps the weather conspired against us but we need something to click. i thought the grip was there on the outside, but if all 4 riders are on the same line it wont make any difference!

Maybe the weather forecast put them of watering heavily, but the track was very dry from the off IMO.Standing on the 1st bend it was noticeable that Bager was going in tighter than the rider in front but was not getting anywhere the leaders were on the dirt line about 2/3 out and never looked like being past.

Having looked at the comments on here and on the updates site it seems as quite a lot of races were ftg now i am wondering how we can gate at Glasgow but not so good at home [probs due to a slick starting gate] was not at Glasgow due to work but thought our track was well prepared on Sat night.Wont catch manyBandits fans being smug after what weve been through,i think we need good teams up north ie Glasgow,Edinburgh,Newcastle,Berwick, just at the moment Edinburgh and Newcastle are the best two;theres a thin line between being smug and banter, but as already said on here most fans are appreciating what other clubs are trying to do there will always be one or two from each club thinking otherwise.
