Chesilmaster
I have heard on the dodgy grapevine, that there is plans for an SGP round in the US. April next year. Hope its true.
SCB
I've heard suggestions that there may be an American GP that ties in with the GP boys travelling back form New Zealand. I juts hope it's only a week apart and not 2 weeks or it could mess up the EL for the best part of 3 weeks.
MattK
As long as it's in Las Vegas, I don't mind when it is.

Time to say good bye to the GP stars and get back to regular meetings, lower costs and races with all 4 having a chance to win!

rob tatum
Let's be honest the Sky elite league is pants and has been going down hill for some time ,I really hope there is a USA GP. The future of league racing in this country is at a crossroads I can't see any GP riders in the league next year but they may be the best solution. Woz01
With monster sponsoring the GP's id guess its a real possibility and will do the sport a world of good.

I visit two USA speedway discussion groups and there has been no mention on them of the possibiilty of the staging of a GP there in 2014. But that doesn't rule out the prospect of it happening of course! Edited June 24, 2013 by Guest
PHILIPRISING1945
TALKS about a SGP in the USA next year, the week before or the week after New Zealand, have been on-going for some time but the availability of the preferred venue (the Home Depot stadium in Los Angeles) have not been fruitful so far. I did hear that the Home Depot has been sold so whether that will help or hinder negotiations remains to be seen. But time is running out in getting all the pieces of the jigsaw together. Obviously it is something that Monster Energy are keen to see happen but there are many hurdles left to clear as yet.
PHILIPRISING
NEGOTIATIONS about a SGP in the USA (California) have been on-going for some time but the preferred venue, the Home Depot stadium in Los Angeles, is proving difficult to acquire for the required dates, either a week before or a week after the NZ SGP. Talks continue but time is running out if they are to add on another event outside of Europe although logistically flying to LA from Auckland would be quite easy. RPNY
Look into NY (Red Bull arena) Unreal stadium, easy journey from Manhattan Weather good in April & would still be good in October as a last round. Tbh, there's so many flight to & from NY you could go there at any point in the season. Lots of people could make NY in a long weekend & it's a new market. Come on, as much as I love the air miles, would live a GP here!

Perhaps but I think the reason to why CA is because both Greg Hancock and Billy Hamill lives there and I think I read somewhere that they would be involved in some way. RPNY
I hear you & I know LA is rightfully their first thought. But I still think they should at the very least look into NY. Especially with some of the riders sponsored by Red Bull they might well pull out all the stops to stage an event
PHILIPRISING
THINK Monster (based in California) might have a bigger influence than Red Bull sponsored riders... plus, as stated, relatively easy journey from Auckland. Direct flight around 11 hours.

Seems odd to suggest holding it at the HD Stadium given its main tenant, LA Galaxy start their Soccer season in February. That said apparently the stadium has been used for the X Games. Gearhead
Gotta be in LA,its a no brainer really,Home Depot would be a great venue too, shame to go to NZ for a one off GP when there are places like OZ and the US that seem fair game for one
Guest
I posted messages on two USA speedway discussion sites asking if anyone had heard about the possibility of the USA staging a speedway GP in 2014. Just one reply! But as usual plenty of debate in regard to activity in California. Could it be that American speedway fans don't really care if they have a GP or not? Possibly most of the starters in GPs don't mean a lot to American speedway supporters?
