New Rider For Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Don't doubt that at all Spinny, just thought we might get to know, from the horses mouth as it were, when Ricky might be coming back. Be good to see him on track again where ever he might be racing.

On the Klindt versus Kling issue, I'm sure Klindt would probably be the better bet if they were both 'on form', remember Nicolai guesting at Stoke against us a few years ago, riding at 1. Made us look very ordinary that Saturday evening as I remember, when they had to have a delay for the sun, which was in the riders eyes at the start line. Reminded of that during the Berwick meeting when we had a break cos of the sun being low, going into the third bend.

Just wondering who's going to be guesting on Thursday, need a big win if we're going to stand any chance, cos we'll no doubt get a pasting up at Brough.

Richard Lawson in for Stead on Thursday

Richard Lawson in for Stead on Thursday

Probably the best guest available that we could have. He's been good in both meetings I've seen him here this year.

There's an update on Simon on the web page, says he's looking at a minimum of 8 weeks out and that he's looking to be back for the PLRC! I wish him well.

Like I've stated before, it's going to be a baptism of fire for Adam, pity the Dudley meeting was rained off, still if he rides at only a fraction of his best he should still score some valuable points and we will need them come Sunday.

Be interesting to see how Richie Worrall rides the track this year, he usually falls off at least once, so it will be a guide to his development/improvement. It's obviously not his favourite place, and all the second halves he used to ride here!

Anybody seen a weather forecast for Thursday? - LOL!

What average would Nicolai Klindt come in on ?, he is a rider with tons of ability, but is seriously lacking in confidence right now, would be a much better option than Kling, and if he were to regain that lost confidence, you would have a serious points scorer there, and right now he would have plenty of time to settle in.

often wonder if Owlerton is the place for a rider to rebuild confidence,it big and f ecking fast, there no place to hide round there,

If Steady is hoping to be back for the PLRC, surely he will need a team place... Is he going to be replaced or not? As he will be out for 8 weeks rather than the season has the decision been taken to make do rather than mend?

Im not to sure there is that much wrong with him, a few wins wouldn't sort out. http://speedwayupdat...nal-1-24th-2013 But since the Danish Final his form has gone downhill, even in Denmark. Edited by greyhoundp

They did wonders for Josh Auty, and Joe Haines seems to be getting his career back on track albeit very gradually.

The thing with the Sheffield Promotion is they will always give a rider plenty of time to settle.

Take a look at the Sheffield teams over the last 10 years or so and they rarely make changes to their team unless they have injuries, there are some Promotions who have made more changes in one season than Sheffield have made in 10 seasons.

And they are all probably higher up the league table than Sheffield because they make changes.

Quite true Spinny and some of those (Emil, Shane,Joel) were more to do with the combination with Malcolm's assets.

Last year in the knock out cup versus Newcastle, we got the big win at home, 58-32, then an even bigger loss at Newcastle in the return, 62-28, which incidently marked the end of my support for Sheffield for last season. Somehow I don't even think we'll get a significant lead from the home leg this time.

Berwick have posted on their website that Ricky Ashworth has been cleared by neorologists to resume, but that he has been out of action for a long time, and is going to take time to practice, attempt to get race-fit and generally see how he feels.

Meantime, Eddy Kennett continues as a Bandit.

Looks like Ricky is to continue at Berwick, where he has certainly been accepted and seems to enjoy himself, once he gets fit.

Yes, i think that was always the case as Berwick and Swindon stated, the talk of him going back to Sheffield was never ever going to happen
