wandersome
What from I remember, lime was added to the track but only down in the area from bend 3/4 to the start line where it was badly affected by the frost and snow, not all the way round. Long Eye will clarify this since he was one of those dispensing the lime. I thought the track was better early on in the meeting but strangely it still seemed to produce passing opportunities when it slickened off. That's interesting martin, It would be nice to hear the view from Long Eye.. I'm afraid i'm still of the opinion that irrespective, the main point is the track shape is not correct for consistent good meetings, or at least could be improved on significantly in order that the kind of meeting we witnessed last night become norm rather than the exception. The evidence would appear to point to the fact that in it's current shape with only a little variation in conditions the track becomes too hard to pass on. That's a view taken from watching the racing for the last 2 1/2 years. Edited June 23, 2013 by volty
whowasthatberntpersson
When Nielsen took out all 3 riders in ht 2 you just knew it was going to be 1 of those meetings. Watching everyone in the pits duck as a bike went flying by was my highlight. Don't think i've seen anything like that at BP since Bergstrom (I think) ended up in what is now the hospitality area. A good meeting though!!! Best wishes to Nielson and Edberg That bike was heading straight for Jason Doyle and Josh G, a few inches higher and it would have cleared the fence, and at a fair old rate of knots...spectacular stuff. Is Nielsen starting to become a liability?, he's been involved in quite a number of incidents already this year, and was clearly at fault in heat 2.. Is Nielsen starting to become a liability?, he's been involved in quite a number of incidents already this year, and was clearly at fault in heat 2.. Every meeting i've seen him in he's been very wild. At the OTA he lost control and pulled straight across the track in front of Branford who ran in to him and then later in the meeting he rode straight into Karlsson on Karlsson's line going into bend 1 and took him out. Now that was the crash Karlsson had against Somerset that shouldn't have been excluded for. He was then pretty wild in the TV meeting at OTA and his wildness was the reason for both crashes in heat 2 though i'm not saying he should have been excluded in the first go. That said, nothing wrong in it. He's young, giving a proper go and good to watch. I like him. Which facebook page, does it matter? are you doubting they all quit!

flagrag
Well last night was err very interesting and one of the most funny things to happen was the promotors new idea that his wife will now do the team talk before the meeting to the riders and also was involved in picking the riders for heat 15. I am sorry but that idea is very wrong she spends most of the meeting in the lower bar, in the office or walking around the stadium with friends. As much she is a lovely person the team affairs should be left to Glyn. I hear may be some good news that Alex has not broken his ankle with just soft tissue damage and may only be out for 10-14 days.

screm
Someone has posted on Facebook, that whole Leicester team have quit the club, if its true what the hell is that all about. Ahh the beauty of Facebook.
jim the whipper
Ahh the beauty of Facebook. They may well have all agreed to quit , then the ones who have no other source of income backtracked , no surprise there, particularly as one is an Aussie , Mrs Hemsley is now wearing the trousers !! haha a Russian without any clue about speedway , behind every clueless Automoton is an even more clueless woman
Najjer
Well done Garry and the Rebels, superb result. Alex Davies, what went wrong?. But thats what the Rebels are going to have to do if they want to go one place better than last year, grind out results like this. It won't come on a plate. You really are a helmet aren't you? I wasn't there last night and can now only wish that I was for looks like another inspired away win for the 2013 Rebels, and all you can do in your second sentence is belittle Alex Davies who has been nothing short of supeb for us this year? Nick Morris, an absolute demon of a performance and fair play to him with stunning back up from Doyley and Josh - each and every Rebel deserve praise for every single point they added to the overall cause last night... Onwards And upwards!!
Vulcan62
Really enjoyed last night. It's got to be the best racing I've seen at Leicester since it re-opened. Pity about the result but we just lost one or two points early in the meeting that turned out to be crucial. Having said that, Somerset might then have been able to use another tactical so who knows? My daughter took a friend to her first meeting last night and she really enjoyed it. Afterwards her first question was, can I come next week? I know that we have Flat Track next week but the next speedway isn't until July 13th! I hope Mr H can come up with a meeting before then, assuming he has calmed down that is! My daughter and friend thought it highly amusing when he gave the metal fence a good kicking!!!!

The only time I have ever seen good racing at KL is when the pride of a country is at stake. I think last night proves my point the riders need to ride it Screeny proved that a fortnight before and the Somerst riders proved that last night now that's 2 meetings on the trot. Glennylion
One man does not a team make though Glennylion! Neither does 6!!! Apologies, Mick... he actually said "we never quit!!!" That may mean 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or even all 7. Best not to second guess. Could also mean that they were sacked though!!!

My point exactly - instead of idiots coming on with their latest hatreds for Somerset riders, used to Gathercole, wasn't it Vissing last year and now Alsx this year. Hopefully young Stefan isn't too badly hurt as he's started to come good and be abit of a trump card at reserve for us.

Wife making team manager decisions. Track equipment doing a runner. Late payment on work done by helpers. Wouldn't it be great if there was someone who could defend our under pressure promoter, maybe from an ex-promoters viewpoint, straight from the promoters union. Where's blooming Tsunami when you need him. He's been on the Leicester threads, using his clearly far greater knowledge of everything Leicester speedway to tell us how it is for 2 years and then when we really do need him to give us the correct perspective on the issues of Leicester Speedway he disappears. bugger Neither does 6!!! Apologies, Mick... he actually said "we never quit!!!" That may mean 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or even all 7. Best not to second guess. Could also mean that they were sacked though!!! The politics of life and work eh, Glennylion! Sometimes you just have to make valued judgements, whether thats comes from a view that there is no smoke without fire or else something said in confidence that can't be disclosed or whatever.. No excuse for not demanding that level of entertainment though. That's why crowds are so poor at speedway these days. I've only seen racing twice at the OTA this year and it's been excellent both times. that's 100%. I've been about 10 times to BP and have also seen 2 decent meetings. that's 20%. And that's a distinct improvement on previous years. I don't doubt i may be just lucky with the OTA but doesn't get away from the point i'm making.

Sometimes you just have to make valued judgements, whether thats comes from a view that there is no smoke without fire or else something said in confidence that can't be disclosed or whatever.. From what has been said on twitter, facebook and taking into account previous fallings out and the number of people who witnessed "something", it wouldn't suprise me that they all had had enough and quit and definately no smoke without fire. I was just saying what Doolan posted on twitter in direct response to the question. Whether he chose words carefully I don't know.
