Shadders
Been raining all night in North London. Loads of standing water. My money is on an early postponement.
Paul
Indeed my monies also on a early call off and with heavy showers forecast for the rest of the day to. But they will start getting a fixture back log, no .income for a couple of weeks, really do fear for the future of rye house. Not sure if clubs still insure against rain offs, but with the summers changing, premiums will go up, most clubs will have no choice but to pass that cost to guess who? It does seem a hard possibility but at the end of the day whatever track it is, the promoter is also staging speedway for supporters entertainment as well as his own business venture. luluthetiger
It does seem a hard possibility but at the end of the day whatever track it is, the promoter is also staging speedway for supporters entertainment as well as his own business venture. In fact, a promoter should be staging speedway which is entertaining for supporters in order to bring more of them into his meetings and make his business more profitable. For the long-term existance of the business, it must make a profit. The entertainment factor is only a sensible by-blow of maximising the income. bolly
Recently had another shower of rain, I would say 50/50 waterlogged track
Shadders
Recently had another shower of rain, I would say 50/50 waterlogged track A a lot more to come if you believe the BBC weather forecast, which is usually reliable... Plan B is ready to be implemented

idanthyrsus
It's sunny in Manchester, therefore it _must_ be sunny everywhere else. Yesterday, was the longest (and stickiest) day of the year. Suffice to say I went to sleep with the sounds of driving rain....
Rteyp
2 miles south of track and its clouding up and looking grim and strong winds. Whatever comes next its going to blow away pretty quickly, forecast is more of the same. Still dry .... for now. Dont know whether to risk it or not. I too have a plan B but need to decide soon. JC!
So how come we're struggling at home? Team is too weak, especially without Olly Allen, it's as simple as that. 6/7 signings were ok, the other was the difference between being contenders and being strugglers. Shadders
Not the heavy defeat I was expecting, or the forecast rain, but pretty hard to take that defeat nonetheless. Rider replacement scoring 4, when Garrity would've scored many more, and another Lambert horror show done us in tonight, pulling some weird shapes to keep us amused. An off night for Jason B compounded the misery. A full strength Rockets side would've taken 3 points, no problem. Hard to fault the choice of guest. Auty at least tried, but gating again cost us dearly. The Diamonds, even taking away the rolling starts, were too sharp away from the tapes too often. Another sparse crowd as well to add to the misery. Silvers programme notes added to the general malaise around the place with reports that Olly Allen will be out for another 6 or 7 weeks and Jason G's leg break not healing as well as expected. Another 2 weeks at least until we see him back. At least Kasper showed some improvement, but still pi$$ poor from the gate. A rare foray away from the white line had him pass someone on the outside for once. Always a treat to watch Robbo and Lewis Kerr banged in some vital points. Somerset visit next week. Oh joy!. I presume he was wondering how we have managed not to win our last 2 home matches and (perhaps) struggled a bit to beat Scunthorpe the match before those. But, well done the Diamonds on yet another away win. Edited June 22, 2013 by The Abbott

It's one of sports undying qualities that after a relatively close meeting where both teams could have won that the losing supporters blame luck, cheating, circumstance and, typically, their own team's poor form. It's always difficult to win away from home in Speedway, to do so you have thoroughly deserved it. I note the same thing is happening on the Leicester v Somerset thread.
