Mr Blobby
Well done to Newcastle with your team of gaters you where allways going to win this one tonight on the bare, slick and dusty track which was virtually impossible to pass on with the Lindgren cook race as a prime example. Â Was standing on the 3rd bend tonight near the newcastle fans and there was two newcastle fans standing at the front who where an Embarrassment to Newcastle speedway by the way the behaved tonight IMO. Â Â Â Just a wee note for any Glasgow fans who are interested Patrik Nagy had 2 outings after the meeting tonight and clocked time of 60 point something in both of his rides. (i think). Â Â Â After last week's and tonight's results the crystal ball needs to be ditched, or it's stuck on "10 point win". Â Never predicting us to win at home by 10 again! thats two weeks in a row now and we have lost both. Â Â Â Gating is an important part of a rider's repertoire and Diamonds gave us a lesson tonight in this department. Â However credit should be given to Robson for passing Cook off the second bend in ht 13. Â I agree the track appeared poorly set up for the home team, but from the feedback from some, it would be wrong to lay the blame solely at Doc. Â Tabaka has taken quite a battering over Tuesday and Friday (3 separate times last night) and I would not be surprised if he misses Sunday. Are you serious because you have a few good weeks of weather you accept a slick , dry track.Try putting some water on it the night and day before the meeting, how do you think they do it in aus when its 40 degrees, they don't really have much idea over there do they, hence you get FTG racing.Junior

scotchopper
Not sure how much water was put out before the meeting but the water bowser was out several times during it. They were obviously not happy with the track as there was tractor grading after almost every heat. That never happens at armadale, despite this and the number of crashes the meeting was still complete before 9.30 which was a good effort. Â It was an incredibly tough meeting with some real dodgy looking crashes, twice 3 riders racing for the same spot in turn 3 ended up with at least one in the fence. And ht3 had to be rerun three times, 2 crashes before they even reached the first turn. Gutted that wee Joe is injured and hope it is not significant, hope all riders and bikes are sorted for Sunday. 6 disqualifications and 3 each on a difficult night for the ref probably evened things out. Â Well done Newcastle your riders were well up for it gated liked demons and earned the win. Tully's first turn in ht5 was the best at the dale since the starting gate moved and if he can get going like that everywhere you will be hard to stop this year. Although we have said that a few times over the years, good luck to the lad. Â Special mention for Theo pijper, he was obviously in agony after every heat racing with broken ribs. Then had to pick himself off the floor in ht4, should have been all 4 back as lewis and Max left him nowhere to go but he probably got a fine for his trouble for not clearing the track. Only robbo in ht13 beat him after that and a fantastic last to 2nd in the final race when passing had been non existent since very early in the meeting. Take a bow. Â We'll be back although unlikely to be on Sunday with all the injuries and mechanical gremlins.

Considering Doc only gets to go to the track on a Wednesday and Friday, which gives plenty of time during the week and at the weekends for the track to dry out. StevePark
I'm amazed nobody has mentioned the referee! He'll be most dissapointed.
SCOTLAND1314
I think Chopster has summed it up nicely.  Newcastle rode hard and gated well. Unfortunately the slick track made it difficult to pass, although Theo's ride and pass in heat 15 was truly heroic (considering his physical condition) that guy has guts, simple.  The ref had a shocker (probably for both teams), that is all.  This tie under normal circumstances would not be over but it will be very tough for whatever Monarchs team takes to the track on Sunday, as many have said, both man and machine are hurting this morning.  But if you can count on nothing else with this team is that they fight, as was shown last night, lesser teams would have been rolled over but the Blue and Gold kept on fighting.  Courtesy of Edinburgh Monarchs speedway  http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=1361

Yes two passes after the 2nd bend cook on tully and Theo in heat 15 apart from that it was follow the leader after bends 1 & 2. No your right he doesn't have the right to automatically pass him but if you had seen the race he was all over the back of him all race doing lines that would on an normal gripy track of got passed him with ease but with the track being the complete opposite he had no chance. MusicMan
most tracks woukd use a crop sprayer - it can help to prevent drying out when it doesnt rain.  I think you should only comment on things you know more about.  The fact was that in the days leading up the meeting the forecast suggested that there would be very heavy rainfall throughout the day on Friday. As Friday dawned there was still suggestion that there could be some showers throughout the afternoon followed by very heavy rain arriving anytime after 7pm.  Not to make excuses but given the circumstances of very little rainfall over the last few weeks and an horrendous forecast, it was certainly a very tough situation. By the time the forecasts were updated to suggest that the rain would not arrive until later on (in fact, it arrived at 10pm), the opportunity to water to a sufficient level had long since passed. Just to add to a mix of the worst possible circumstances, there was a strong wing blowing throughout the day and occasional spells of warm sunshine. The track was watered throughout the day, though not to the point that it would have been had the forecast been good.  Of course the club will always endeavour to put out a terrific racing surface, unfortunately it didn't work out yesterday.

Fromafar
Like all good Monarchs fans say 'win as a team lose as team ' but under their breath they will be cursing Vissing's home form ,which is mediocre to say the least. Arson fire
Monarchs not at the races. Track is a bit slick. Not a lot of passing. Although Lindgren has just very deliberately in my opinion taken tabaka out in heat 14. I get hard racing, but that was just plain vicious and ruthless in my opinion. Thank goodness joe got up.  Newcastle 35-42 up after 13 heats and deservedly so. the photos of this incident suggest your talking absolute rubbish. See In the Ronnie gill George has lodged an official complaint about Mcgregor ..... The grand monarch in Paulcos words.
