The White Knight
The fact that we are having this Discussion is proof enough to me that the Elite League is no longer Elite. The Sport HAS to be run on a sound Financial footing. If Tracks cannot afford certain Riders, they should not have them. This Recession we are in will go on for a long time yet - we MUST cut our coat according to our cloth. If we don't, then there is nothing but trouble ahead.
philfromcov
i watch the gp's for star riders and now accept that the leagues don't need them. i say that deliberately as what entertainment do we get from seeing these guys clear off at the front? but the elite teams would have to do what the majority want, Coventry i think have already in this mode but can you see the likes of matt ford accepting this? mind you he will be gone in a second, which is no bad thing either. regarding the issue for the "good British" riders, this will only be a problem for one year. any EL rider over 7.20 will have to marked as a 12 point average for the first year....... if they want to ride in the league. after that they will gain a "normal" average. .

Yes the last thing the sport needs is tracks closing, because of planning constraints etc, there would be very little chance of them opening again and that would just be another nail in the coffin.
