Coventry Storm V Kent Friday 14th June --7.30 Start Not 8pm

Riders like Ellis and Lambert starting on three point averages is an anomaly indeed but they're young British lads, let them do it! Boxall is coming back to the sport with a reputation that proceeds him from previous campaigns unfortunately. However he is riding well for Kent, saddled with a very high average but he seems to want to do well and is prepared to graft for it. Kent have given him a great chance to get back onto the Speedway scene and he is still relatively young.

always uses current averages. so if you go up to, for arguments sake 50, and your 3 point rider has become a 9 pointer, you can replace him with another 9 pointer.

Cheers - I can understand the logic.

The system though, massively favours a team who picks low average riders who over-achieve against those whom pick high averaged (in the first place) riders..

I'd love to know the EXACT rule and formula that saddled Stevie with an 11.38 average, though; coz I've pored over the rule book and can see nothing which justifies the maths of 11.38...

It's his 5.69 PL average from 2011 doubled I believe Derek, if he'd missed last year injured he'd be allowed an 8% reduction I believe but as he chose to sit it out, no such luck!

That's what you get when you sign antiques. Very high value, been sat in the shop window for a while, and no matter how hard you try the speed and reaction has long gone. Kent missed the new age riders by a mile for being so slow to put the team together and now the fans are complaining. Not the perfect way to start a new team. Get the talent scouts out and look hard over winter to build a winning team. This season is already over realistically. Signing top conference league / reserve prem riders from 5 years ago is not the way to go. Look at Benji Compton.

Clearly meant in a good way :D
