Good news.

Thank you Mick Horton for listening to the fans as the majority would much prefer a 7.30pm start. :approve:

Looking at the updates, i dont really know where Kent go from here, yes Storm have a good Team, especially at home, but i can think of at least 3 Teams who are stronger. You know if Kent cannot beat Buxton at home, you have to ask, just who can they beat ?.

Although it looks like a very convincing win for The Storm there was actually some good racing and I enjoyed it. Shame there weren't more people there but I think the weather today put a lot off travelling. 21 miles away in Leicester we had several outbursts of torrential rain during the day which had me wondering whether to bother going, but strangely enough the Brandon track was that dry and dusty it had to be watered a couple of times. Well done to all the riders for putting on a good show.

I forgot to mention the 'new' announcer who seemed to blend in very well with centre green presenter Chris. I presume this will be the norm for the Bees matches as well now? I thought it worked okay and I much prefer having Chris with the roving mike. :t:

Personally I thought it was a nightmare of a meeting and would have left long before the end had I not been doing the texting. I should say, though, that it was more a combination of circumstances that caused that and I don't think any one is particularly to blame.

The track was terrible - very slick indeed with a large ridge on the third turn. That meant that with rare exceptions the racing was poor. Then there were persistent delays which led to the first 6heats taking 45minutes.

I chose to stand on the third bend and got cold and covered in dust, and then they had an interval (which I really don't like).

The match was a one sided hammering and Adam had a poor meeting by his recent standards.

Given the very poor quality of met office forecasts (they had thunder and lightning at 4pm and it was actually sunny) it's difficult to complain about the track. Where I stand is down to me and the delays were caused by the riders, so it would be very wrong to try and pin any frustration on the promotion.

The weather? How could there have been so many conflicting forecasts? The BBC one that was up at one stage on here did forecast sun from 4pm onwards.

Believe me, noone studies forecasts like I do. The met office forecast (and the BBC get it from them)is updated hourly and changes ,- often dramatically -as frequently. What I am saying is that I don't blame the promotion for the slick track. That often happens if there is bad weather forecast.

I rely on XC weather. They got it spot in three days before hand.

I do not think any of the Raiders monday squad will be riding for Kent any time soon ,the good ones already have clubs , the rest would be no improvement on what we have now There is a real problem with strengthening the lack of suitable riders and the points we have to play with..

A frustrating start to the meeting with so many re-starts but the race between Jacobs and Boxall in heat 15 was really 'top drawer' stuff and I doubt you would see a better duel at any other level of the sport. Well done boys!

I agree having an 11.38 rider will never work Good as Steve is,, .,creates a ridiculously weak bottom half of the team ( Adam Kirby excepted ),,and the best 3 pointers were all snapped up before the side was put together..Now we are in a difficult situation..

......Halifaxtiger..... I chose to stand on the third bend and got cold and covered in dust, and then they had an interval (which I really don't like).

I only saw one person standing on the 3rd bend so don't tell me that was you wearing shorts whilst I had multi layers on and was still cold.

I dont think I've seen Ht in anything other than shorts Gem so it probably was - I reckon he's an honourary Aussie and would wear them in the snow as well lo
