george.m
Just watched the meeting on Sky+ and what a belting meeting it was. More of this please and less of EL. Well done to our Auld Enemy. Ouch that hurts. Did the best thing you can after a home loss, bounced back. A team with real spirit, wish we had a bit of that.
womble53
So he's not a lovely guy then? No, I don't know Garry well, just what I see as an ordinary supporter at meetings, but I don't know Sir Alex either, yet I'm pretty sure which one I would prefer to be managing my team! Maybe Garry is an inspirational manager, but that certainly didn't come across from his TV interviews on Tuesday. Not 'presumptive drivel', just an observation. But don't ask me....I'm only a supporter!! Ok, so 'Drivel' was a little harsh, but I'll stick by 'Presumptive', as you admit that you formed your opinion purely from what you had seen on TV, therefore you presumed he is not an inspirational manager. BTW to answer you question, Garry is a lovely guy........but I won't presume that you knew exactly which part of your posting I was referring to originally Also glad to hear that you're a supporter too Edited June 13, 2013 by womble53
Catalan
Garry is a nice guy but was laying the law down to Poole riders tonight. He is very passionate about his speedway and will be ruthless to get a winning team.
Starman2006
As already stated numerous times elsewhere, a great meeting with some great racing and a great advert for the PL - unless you're a Rebels fan! Edinburgh look a very strong side ( how did they manage to lose at home to Redcar?? ) and with either Fricke, Tabaka or even Sneddon at reserve all season, they are going to be a serious contender for honours. As for the Rebels, some cracks are beginning to appear. The huge win at Scunny showed just what this team can do, but there's too much inconsistency. Jason - Couldn't really ask for more from him, though does seem to have lost that invincibility he had earlier in the season, maybe through slight injury or fatigue. Kyle - Doing what's expected from the tricky no.2 position, except disaster at Redcar. Nick - Bit off the pace last night, but just returning from broken collarbone so understandable. Alex - Seems to be really kicking on from last year, both home and away. Josh - Poor meeting at Redcar (feeling unwell apparently), but otherwise exceeding expectations. Stefan - Impressed. Mixing it well with the big boys. Bit impetuous, but will learn quickly. Tom - A real worry. Not moved forward since last year. I don't believe there is anyone available that could improve the potential of this Rebels team - Tom could be the only one under threat, but from whom? - it's just a matter of finding more consistency and maybe more inspiration from the management. Gary seems a lovely guy, but he ain't no SAF! No mate Garry is not Sir Alex Ferguson, how can you compair the two? But what Garry is, is a very good team manager, and will not put up with rubbishe, same as Matt ford at poole, if they don't do their jobs there gone.. The different between Garry and Sir Alex is Sir Alex can keep his team every year, and has millions to spend, Garry has to break it up, and in comparison has pennys to spend, Garry is also a shrewd judge of a rider. By the way, his Daughter asked me who you were tonight, luckly, i don't know you... Yes Tom is a worry, buts lets give the lad the benifit of the doubt for a couple more weeks, but i do hope the team learn from last weeks sky meeting, you get 8-10 pts in front and you stay there. I talk about complacency, you ride to the line, don't look round unless you are looking for your partner.. Somerset can still be in the shake up, but they must ride with that Killer instint, destroy teams. All your team are open to improve their averages, and to name two both Alex and Josh don't suprise me, both are still capable of better, Kyle is also capable of attaining a 7 this season. Jason Doyle is your bench mark. Edited June 13, 2013 by Starman2006
Catalan
Kyle watches Jason closely around bends 1 & 2, he has to or he would finish up in the fence!

Jason Doyle is your bench mark. I may well regret this, but I am going to respond to this garbage. Firstly, I can compare the two because they both do the same job. They are team managers whose jobs entail putting together a side and then maximising the potential of the team through tactics and motivation. Unlike Matt Ford by the way, who is your promoter, not team manager, and, as such, is unlikely to fire himself if he does a bad job!! But I'm sure you knew that?? Secondly, your differences between Alex Ferguson and Garry are irrelevant as they are not in competition with each other. Garry is only competing against other speedway managers who are constrained by the same rules and similar budgets. And as for Garry's daughter supposedly asking you who I am - why is it lucky you don't know me? Whilst it is obviously my good fortune that we don't know each other, 'mate', I don't see what that has to do with my controversial opinion that Garry is not as good a manager as Sir Alex Ferguson!
