The White Knight
As you twice refer to the referee being a resident of Middlesbrough in your post, can you explain why you believe it is relevant to emphasise this point ? Probably because he was rubbish and came from Middlesbrough. No intention to infer bias there. cyclone
Probably because he was rubbish and came from Middlesbrough. No intention to infer bias there. Really ? So every time a referee is considered to have been "rubbish", it will be the norm to include his place of residence, be it Middlesbrough or wherever, and refer to it at least twice in a post ? Arson fire
As you twice refer to the referee being a resident of Middlesbrough in your post, can you explain why you believe it is relevant to emphasise this point ? its like me reffing a redcar match, or clatenburg doing a Sunderland game.

Arson fire
Although Clattenburg is a well known Liverpool fan that is 100% incorrect, he's a Newcastle fan.
cyclone
Oh Dear. what a f***about nothing. So the answer is NO. Typical abusive reply from the Whitley Bay Windbag when someone questions his snide comments on the ref, when he does not give decisions in favour of Newcastle. mickthemuppet
A close meeting in front of the biggest crowd of the season thanks to the Groupon promotion. Never more than two points in it at any stage, it was hard to say at anyone time which team would come out the victor. Man of the Match has to be the blind referee from Middlesbrough Michael Breckon. How he didn't see Risager, for once in a hurry, at a fast rate of knots overtake Luddi on the outside beside the start gate, then drive up the inside across the first bend and take Christian off who the ref then excluded him. Shocking decision. Risager having been out of control once, tried a fast burst down the back straight in his next ride overtaking a surprised Tungate down the back straight squeesing between him and the fence just to swop places when on the final lap of a 3-3. Sheer madness and I wonder what CL would have said if either had come down and got injured. I won't mention the rollers that Barker was getting away with, so much so George E spent most of the meeting at the starting gate getting more and more frustrated with the refs reluctance to do anything about it. Before you ask, Robbo did not roll once and, if he had, surely Michael from Middlesbrough would have excluded him from the meeting no doubt. Quite a difficult choice for MOTM but Michael won it by a mile. Worrying night for Steve, and a poorish night from Luddi who has often been the big match winner at home but was off it tonight, passing Heeps in one race and the being retaken by Heeps on the same bend. Pulling up shortly afterwards said a lot. If he is doing too many meetings here and abroad, well there is an easy answer to this problem. Barker was star of the actual show, never giving up and very wild when passing others. Carried some fantastic speed going into the corners, Risager would have been impressed. Lots of niggling with him and our riders, with him doing Richie twice within two bends in one race. Typical, after all the earlier reports of his current form, that he comes to us and gets 14, after his splendid 18 the night before at Berwick. Ipswich will be a bigger handful for the rest of the PL now. And finally. Kerr tries to pass Hawkins past the startline in heat 8, Hawkins does a bad left on him causing contact, Kerr's foot slipping off his footpeg trying to stay on his bike, and you've guessed it, Stevie Wonder in the box has missed it. Good for Kerr he talked it over with Richie H when back in the pits. A disappointing result, especially after our win at their place on Thursday, when I am assured we had the greatest will to win. Well tonight, it was the other way round. A nice unbiased report!!
Tsunami
A nice unbiased report!! But very accurate, and you would have agreed if you had been there. Typical abusive reply from the Whitley Bay Windbag when someone questions his snide comments on the ref, when he does not give decisions in favour of Newcastle. Says the well troubled Scottish troll who is always on the lookout for a bit of bother with the usual suspects. Get over ya sel, before I set Paulco on you. The White Knight
that is 100% incorrect, he's a Newcastle fan. He's certainly not a Sunderland Supporter.
Tsunami
A nice unbiased report!! RE the incident when Hawkins did a bad left on Kerr in this meeting. George English in last nights programme says in rule 15.5.1 "Having stopped the heat, the referee SHALL disqualify the Rider, who in his opinion a, - is deemed to be the primary cause of the stoppage, or b, - by indulging in foul, unfair, dangerous or reckless conduct has jeopardised the fair chance of one or more opponents." The referee, a Michael Brekon of Middlesbrough, did not stop the race but could/should have excluded Hawkins on point B mentioned in the rules. He was invited to do so by George English at the time but it was revealed later that Hawkins had received a warning for his actions, which therefore meant he should have been excluded from that race, and could have been excluded for the rest of the meeting. Still think it was me that was biased. These are FACTS taken from the rules and GE's actions and report in the programme.

The FACT is the referee of that name resides in Darlington, not Middlesbrough. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Just been able to see this meeting on dvd. A really competitive ckash with a draw a fair result. With regard to the 2 major incidents Mortens pass was far and clean IMO. I dont see that he was rushing in too fast - just a classic block pass. Ritchie was perhaps a bit naughty but I doubt any referee would exclude. Ritchie was always in front and there was little or no contact (accepting that was due to Lewis sensibly backing off) Hopefully there will be chance to see some more of these two sides in opposition in the LC or play off finals.
