Fromafar
thanks for writing that for me,,, nearly the same coloured glasses !!! I would stick with Steve, but for how long ??? ,,, but Ludo, fastest time by anyone this season, to what ??? Lingren is the same most seasons when the foreign commitments kick in he doesn't seem to be able to cope with the work load IMO. Not the only one I fear. ZODIAK
A brand new rider at no 5 and im sure your dead right .. Everyone said that Lanham being at number 1 last year was the reason his average dropped, but this year he's not at 1 and he's been even worse. He's the one that should be backing up Barker but I'm afraid he looks a spent force. Could cost Ippo in the end. If Louis is serious about winning the title, then maybe a change is the order of the day IF a better alternative could be found. Baldyman
Totally agree. And the longer its left the less we will have to play with. Cue jackal on why changes won't be made.

Not a cat in hells chance of cl ousting his friend and mate Lanham , after all he goes around for tea and biscuits in return for fish'n'chips Totally agree. And the longer its left the less we will have to play with. Cue jackal on why changes won't be made. How did you guess Baldyman This result stuffed a few Newcastle gloaters which was pleasing but if 2 of our weak links Lanham and Ellis had done a little better, it could have been all 4 points. But its getting commonplace now these 2 fail on a regular basis and will indeed cost the Witches big time in the long run. Very nice to see our genuine no1 Ben riding like it at last with a super 32 points from the 2 meetings over the weekend and coupled with solid displays from Rohan, Morten and Cameron it was quite good on the whole to get 3 points. So much better than our depressing performance last Thursday!!!

Jackal
No we won't get one, but 2 big points. Oh dear jackal No Baldyman not "oh dear" at all very pleased they got 2 points, remember I am a Witches fan but say it as I see it and always the realist. In fact a little like you, I did say a little lol
Halifaxtiger
So, to those above who want to replace Steve. Who would you replace him with? Not sure if his average would fit, but Charles Wright is banging in some big scores for Buxton, James Sarjeant was pretty impressive at Sheffield the other week for Leicester and Ben Hopwood is riding well for IOW. With respect to Steve Worrall, they can't do much worse than he is at the moment.
bri1966
If you playing all ifs and buts Jackal . Had Ludvic not done six meetings last week and had to travel back home from Eastbourne we would have won. Ben better be in the GB side when they take on The Australians when its at Newcastle . Pure class

I personally (my opinion, only, of course) don't think either James Sarjeant or Ben Hopwood are the answer. Charles Wright has never gone round Brough particularly well, and, on top of that, is he prepared to quit Buxton (a Sunday track, remember) to ride PL? As you say, he been banging the scores in for Buxton and maybe is earning more in the NL than he potentially would in the PL. Also, with respect, signing someone who 'could do no worse' maybe isn't the answer either. Surely we should be looking for someone who could do better? The White Knight
I was fantastically ENTERTAINED last night by two Teams determined to win the Meeting. Ben Barker was tremendous (I hope all of you Ipswich Supporters who have been getting on his back will now get off it). He was an absolute pleasure to watch. The Meeting itself was exciting with no more that two Points between the Teams all night and, in the end, a fair Result was achieved. I thought that the Referee excluding Christian was one of the worst decisions that I have ever seen whilst watching Speedway (nearly 40 years) - it really was shocking. A fair bit of passing too - for the benefit of those who complain about the Brough Park Track, which I thought was really good - certainly a lot better than the ploughed Field that they ran the British GP on. Really? I thought it was the correct decision to exclude Henry. Risager made a fair pass and for me, didn't touch Henry at all. Have to say heats 13, 14 and 15 were cracking races, Barker was sensational and a joy to watch, as he was at Berwick on Saturday! But as for that centre green announcer, oh dear oh dear, knew very little and was really really boring

Risager went in to turn one far too fast, there is no way that Henry would have stayed on his Bike as, from where I was standing (the accident happened right in front of me) Risager could not possibly avoid hitting him and he would have ended up in the Fence. To be honest - I thought there WAS contact and that Henry got off quick to avoid injury.
Arch Stanton
Ben Barker was tremendous (I hope all of you Ipswich Supporters who have been getting on his back will now get off it). He was an absolute pleasure to watch. Nobody has gotten "on his back" as you put it, just some have quite rightly, expressed their disappointment at his points return this year. Ben Barker has set very high standards in the Premier League and has been the top rider for the last two seasons on a near 10 point average. This season so far, he hasn't lived up to those high standards and that's by his own admission, both in the Premier League and the Elite league for Birmingham. the dominant performance you seem to have witnessed last evening, and the dominant performance the Berwick supporters witnessed the night before, we just haven't seen yet at Foxhall. Don't get me wrong, he's not been awful by any stretch of the imagination, he just hasn't been close to the standard we've seen from him in the PL with Plymouth these last few seasons. When you build your team with a number one on a near 10 point average, you need him to be a dominant number one and he's just fell short of that so far. Chris Louis commented that these last few nights, he's finally looked like the "number one that we signed him to be" and that his struggles have been machinery based and not down to his ability. Hopefully now he's got that sorted and he can continue to be that dominant number one we all know he is at this level. We'll need him to be if we're going to fight for the title that's for sure.

Tsunami
A close meeting in front of the biggest crowd of the season thanks to the Groupon promotion. Never more than two points in it at any stage, it was hard to say at anyone time which team would come out the victor. Man of the Match has to be the blind referee from Middlesbrough Michael Breckon. How he didn't see Risager, for once in a hurry, at a fast rate of knots overtake Luddi on the outside beside the start gate, then drive up the inside across the first bend and take Christian off who the ref then excluded him. Shocking decision. Risager having been out of control once, tried a fast burst down the back straight in his next ride overtaking a surprised Tungate down the back straight squeesing between him and the fence just to swop places when on the final lap of a 3-3. Sheer madness and I wonder what CL would have said if either had come down and got injured. I won't mention the rollers that Barker was getting away with, so much so George E spent most of the meeting at the starting gate getting more and more frustrated with the refs reluctance to do anything about it. Before you ask, Robbo did not roll once and, if he had, surely Michael from Middlesbrough would have excluded him from the meeting no doubt. Quite a difficult choice for MOTM but Michael won it by a mile. Worrying night for Steve, and a poorish night from Luddi who has often been the big match winner at home but was off it tonight, passing Heeps in one race and the being retaken by Heeps on the same bend. Pulling up shortly afterwards said a lot. If he is doing too many meetings here and abroad, well there is an easy answer to this problem. Barker was star of the actual show, never giving up and very wild when passing others. Carried some fantastic speed going into the corners, Risager would have been impressed. Lots of niggling with him and our riders, with him doing Richie twice within two bends in one race. Typical, after all the earlier reports of his current form, that he comes to us and gets 14, after his splendid 18 the night before at Berwick. Ipswich will be a bigger handful for the rest of the PL now. And finally. Kerr tries to pass Hawkins past the startline in heat 8, Hawkins does a bad left on him causing contact, Kerr's foot slipping off his footpeg trying to stay on his bike, and you've guessed it, Stevie Wonder in the box has missed it. Good for Kerr he talked it over with Richie H when back in the pits. A disappointing result, especially after our win at their place on Thursday, when I am assured we had the greatest will to win. Well tonight, it was the other way round. Edited June 10, 2013 by Tsunami
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
You can blame Jason Doyle for Mortens new style - he let him know in no uncertain terms that he was too slow into the corners when collecting an exclusion at Foxhall a few weeks ago! Kerr could easily have put Hawkins into the tractors down the back straight turning left himself on Thursday so may well have been a recall from the Hawkins memory banks in the return. Overall Id say its a good thing to see that kind if passion from both sides as it made for 2 great contests. However I would temper that with the fact that I wouldnt want to see matters get out of hand.

Certainly a faster Risager than I have ever seen, and not a whiteliner last night. Kerr could easily have put Hawkins into the tractors down the back straight turning left himself on Thursday so may well have been a recall from the Hawkins memory banks in the return. That point was made by someone else. But how or why would the ref know that and if he did, then bring that occasion into his non decision making last night. Overall Id say its a good thing to see that kind if passion from both sides as it made for 2 great contests.
