Newcastle Vs Ipswich Pl Sunday 9 June 2013 At 6.30pm

Recommended Posts

After Thursdays success, the Diamonds are going for the double over the Witches.

Andy Tully makes his home debut for the Diamonds, after coming through the meeting at Foxhall.

Should be a home win, but never take anything for granted.

Even when the Witches took that early lead on Thursday it still felt like the Diamonds were the ones looking the sharpest.

The Witches will need to inject that fire into their bellies to be competitive.

I hope and expect that it will be a hard fought battle as a result. I can however only see a Diamonds win by 10 or more.

That said wheres yheres hope you never know so heres hoping!! Up the Witches!!

Ben Barker needs to step up, If Not then I would consider getting rid and bringing in Nicolai Klindt.

Well after Thursdays depressing performance by the Witches against Newcastle, the only realistic result here is a thorough hammering!!!

If Ben do not step up to what we signed him for like so far this season, think this will be an embarrassment. Its a gut rendering thing to say but Im always a realist but this Newcastle side is way above the Witches team in ability, guts and desire. Changes need to be made but cl is known for his doing nothing approach and thats exacting what I expect - nothing!!!

He's scored 8 points once, 9 points twice and double figures in all his other matches! What exactly do you want?

You say "changes need to be made." What changes? A re-shuffle of the team? Drop riders and replace them? If the former, who would ride where in your opinion? If you think the latter, who should be dropped and who should replace them?

And PLEASE don't say "That's CL's Job," 'cos that's just a cop-out. Back up your "demands" with some substance.

Barker, while being exciting, has been a disappointment this season points wise. He's been nigh on unbeatable in the PL the last couple of years and is miles off that this year. I think he went something like two and a half months unbeaten at Plymouth last year. Not looked even remotely capable of a maximum at Foxhall this season. He's having a poor year by his own very high standards.

To be fair Barker has been a little disappointing at Ipswich so far this season (although he seems to going well at Berwick tonight). Harsh to say he has been poor but certainly not as dominant as the Witches fans had expected.

Should be a good match. I expect Barker and Leigh Lanham, who is a track specialist and like David Howe seems to relish riding here, to give the Diamonds plenty to think about.

Tungate rode well here in the PL match at reserve but had a dreadful match in the Cup Final when out of form. I think he's the only other rider who might win races though.

Looking forward to seeing Tully ride after an excellent comeback. Brough holds no fears for him so wouldn't be surprised to see him winning races quickly. Decent opportunity here for Steve to pick up some points after his recent poor run.

54-40.

I am really looking forward to this Meeting. I had to miss the last Meeting against Scunthorpe so it's about FOUR weeks since I had my fix. I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms. (No Arson  ).

Hoping for a Win and a safe Meeting for Riders on both Teams. :t::approve:

This will be tighter thhan many think. Quite a few Witches who like Brough. 49-41.

I think we will see a good meeting tomorrow with some good racing. If all our boys are on song , yes we should win, BUT. From reports, we were ahead of them on Thursday in terms of gating, so if the gates are prepared as usual we, should be OK.

Without doubt. Not sure if we were sluggish from the gate, or Newcastle electric, maybe a bit of both. But time and time again the Newcastle boys seemed to hit the first bend first. Very impressive all round really.

Very sharp from the starts and yes it was the difference between the sides. (and no rollers!!)

Richie W commented to me afterwards that he always felt the Diamonds 'just wanted it that lttle bit more' and thats why they won.

A spirited display from the Witches last night it seems so lets hope for more of the same.

I would love to see Leigh silence a few critics with one of of hus usual Brough Park performances. If he does it could be close.

Head says Newcastle by 10 or more but as ever the heart hopes for more!

Up the Witches!!

Ben Barker in heat 1 win shocker! Well actually its the 4th time away he's done it, still awaiting the home one! :o

We want 5 - We want 5!!
