oldace
Those who watch the streams will pretty much all not be able to subscribe to Sky, Sky are not out of pocket. Indeed once some of these who watch on the internet get some money they'll probably leap at the chance of joining Sky because they see what coverage is available. Tried your advice, my case comes up next week. I explained I had no intention of buying the 60" LED TV and therefore by stealing it I was not depriving Curry's of any money. I even pointed out that if I liked the TV I could end up legitimately purchasing another for the bedroom. Didn't seem to cut much ice with them

Didn't seem to cut much ice with them Gee Whizz! are some people incapable of reading and comprehending English. It was NOT MY ADVICE. Ummmmm no i'm not. I was stating how i perceive things to be and made absolutely no judgement on whether those who watch the streams are in the moral right or wrong. I just pointed out that as they would never be able to subscribe to Sky, they are not withdrawing money from Sky by choosing to watch the streams, That wasn't my argument. What part of the above did you not understand???
kelvinht
Sky Sports now do a daily pass on Now TV - £9.99, so not very good value if you just want to watch a speedway meeting. When I first saw this advertised I'd hoped it would be more a pay per view for a program (and somewhat cheaper) I'll be sticking with my £2.99 a month for Eurosport as I've no intention of getting Sky just to watch a few speedway meetings. Will be even better vaue if Elite League moved to Eurosport next season...
pugwash
. Will be even better vaue if Elite League moved to Eurosport next season... It won't as Eurosport don't have any filming capabilities or whatever, this has been explained elsewhere on this forum i believe.

Eurosport show the SGP despite having no filming capabilities. There's no reason why the EL could not be filmed by one of the many sports coverage outfits and the feed sold on for broadcast by Eurosport. Cockney Rebel
Im one of those that watch live streams and I could afford Sky (did so for 3 years) at a push but why bother when some streams are pretty good and can put them on my TV. I will continue to do so no matter how high some peoples horse is. At the meetings you attended last year did you pay to get in or ask the crowd to have a whip round for your entrance fee? I'm sure they would have been happy to if you explained that the Sky subscribers pay for you watch speedway on TV.
mrlincolncity
Iv now actually found a great site that streams loads of sports all live and through my ps3 i can sit and watch it all on my tv! Hahahaaaa yeah like im guna pay 60 quid a month to watch it all via the thievin so n sos at sky hq! For law purposes im giving an example of what i and many others COULD do! Of course, sky could lower the subscription fees instead of putting them up in august for the sports package! That could solve some issues of watching free streams. But they wont will they! So i know what il do....... Wife. Cancel that sports package........ Wheres my ps3 controller...... pandorum
It's an argument that has been going on since the advent of cassette tape. It's technology and will always be one step ahead of the entertainment industry who have milked the customer ruthlessly for over 50 years. I use such things and have never lost a second of sleep over it. The analogies used here are pretty childish. Copyright ceased to exist the day the Internet went mainstream. I bet those wittering on about it have watched a youtube clip of a recording artist and not bothered to buy that artists work! Big deal. That is life in the 21st century. Get used to it. 'File sharing' has been going on since the cassette tapes appeared and will continue in all it's forms long after we all are dust.
