Mr Blobby
This week the patched up Monarchs welcome a high flying Redcar team to Armadale with former monarchs Aaron Summers, mickey Dyer and Max Dilger. Both teams will line up with their in form men in Joe Tabaka and Mickey Dyer moving into the main body of the team and Max Fricke and Carl Wilkinson moving down into the reserve berths. The monarchs will also have R/R in operation for Theo Pijper, who is on long track duty, which will be a huge miss for the boys in blue & gold as he has been good for double figures at home all season. With Mitchell Davey also missing due a broken wrist they will call upon young James Sarjeant as a guest. Hard one to predict this but can still see the monarchs taking all 3 points and winning by 10 on the night. Teams for Friday: Edinbrugh 'Scotwaste' Monarchs Craig Cook Derek Sneddon © Theo Pijper R/R Joe Tabaka Claus Vissing James Sarjeant (guest) Max Fricke Redcar Bears Ulrich Ostergaard Hugh Skidmore Matej Kus Mickey Dyer Aaron Summers © Carl Wilkinson Max Dilger

Is it not just for day of Longtrack meetings (assume it Saturday)? Sure Berwick a couple years ago were hit by same problem with Franc and used 3 pointer? Travertine
I think that result confirms that Redcar really are contenders - well done to the Bears!

spt82
No they can`t-match scores should be adjusted to take off R/R points. Your entitled to R/R when it's an FIM event. ie world longtrack championship.
racers and royals
Your entitled to R/R when it's an FIM event. ie world longtrack championship. Wrong-day of meeting only-rule 18.1.2 H is on FIM Longtrack Championship duty (for the day of the Meeting only; no facility is permitted for practice day). Before anyone says he couldn`t get to finland in time-he had until 15.00 local time to sign on-track is 130km from Helsinki.

Oh well who knows I thought there was some sort of thing to do with 24 hours before and after the meeting? I think they got R/R in one meeting last season for the same reason. I believe Theo did want to race but it was his federation that blocked him as it would have been a bit tight.

I'm just going on the fact we got the R/R once last year so presumed its the same this. Makes no difference now Edinburgh lost anyway, if they take the R/R scores out and Redcar gain an extra point then so be it.
Fromafar
It was noticable that Cook was having trouble with his left arm after each race.He has said lately that it was a reaccurance of the problem he had at the end of last season, lets hope he is ok tomorrow guesting for Bandits as it caused him to withdraw after 2races when he guested last year, It certainly did not effect his on track performance tonight he was flying. Mr Blobby
First off all would like to congratulate redcar on their victory tonight against a miss firing monarchs side. You could say Redcar came to the dale at the right time with Davey injured and R/R for Theo but hey ho thats the way it goes. Looked like the boys in blue & gold had the match wrapped up being 12 points up after 10 heats then came along the the T.R where we lost an 8 -1 form then on it all went a bit wrong. The track played a big part in the monarchs downfall tonight as it was very slick and dusty due to the weather where there was only one pass all night (which was cook in heat 1). Gating was crucial tonight and the bears made the starts when it mattered. Only getting 7 points from R/R was a big let down when Theo would have scored double figures. But the main reason that we lost tonight was Mr Vissing what he was up to tonight was a mystery. Was on a comfortable 5 - 1 in heat 4 until he decided he was going to try and go round Max and fell off resulting in a 3 - 3 instead of a 5 - 1. His next 4 rides he looked looked liked he had never seen the place before why he got given heat 15 is a bit of a strange one as he had scored one point up to then. Special mention to Max Fricke he was fantastic to watch tonight fast, smooth and stylish and well deserved his 12+1 form his 5 rides. Mr Blobby
go redcar,,,, you are the league champions... There are 3 teams out there that have a better chance of wining the league than Redcar IMO.
SCB
There are 3 teams out there that have a better chance of wining the league than Redcar IMO. I said in March that Somerset, Edinburgh and Redcar were the 3 favourites. Newcastle pulled Lewis Kerr out of the bang to put themselves i the frame too but IMO, its 1 of that 4. All have a weakness somewhere. Probably the closest title race for a long time, the same in the EL. We're into June and I'm still no more sure than I was in March. cyclone
Give the Bears credit for overturning a 12 point deficit. Don't go for excuses about track conditions - they're the same for both sides, or Pijper's absence on Longtrack - was the FIM schedule not known before the Speedway season commenced ? The positive for Monarchs was Max Fricke's best home performance, including first ever wins (x 3). As previously mentioned, a concern is Cook's apparent ongoing discomfort with a shoulder, and given his busy racing schedule, will this affect his overall fitness to maintain the high standard he has set this season ? IMO Monarchs have a decent team, but are unlikely to be serious title challengers. Even with Pijper returning next week, I would not expect us to overcome Newcastle(the best PL team at the moment) in KOC ties next weekend.
