Berwick V Ipswich Pl Sat June 8th

Ben barker woah best performance ive seen at berwick, gets the nod over janusz kolodziej for me

Barker made the other riders look like wee boys tonight. He was excellent.

Nice, to meet you too, incidentally :)

For me, the Bandits are missing a bit of fight. They look a wee bit too cosy, just performing OK, but missing a bit of aggression.

Overall, not a bad meeting though and a fair enough result.

A Berwick thread which is all nice and cosy...whoever would`ve thought it would happen. .Looking forward to my visit in August to watch the Bandits defeat the Waspels. :P

Then the mood will change.

Be nice to see a few ippo fans actually make the journey up can never understand how fans never seem to support there teams at saturday night tracks nice little weekend trip berwick saturday newcastle sunday

There are still a couple of places left on the Bandits tour bus "nice little weekend trip" to Leicester & Rye House in August, but if you are who I think you are you'll already be booked on it. ;)

Before the meeting thought it would be a close one; by heat 4 thought it was going to be easy after heats 5 and 7 thought oh no here we go[how did Kozza bounce right back up again and not get hit by Rohan and Paul ?]but getting the next two heat advantages proved crucial imo .Special mention to Barker who as stated on here was superb and also to Robin who looked more like the rider of last season good close meeting with the right outcome for the first time

Good to get a point thanks almost entirely to Ben who apparently was fantastic perhaps its just foxhall he can't ride! But more awful performances from the Witches 3 weakest links Lanham, Hawkins and Ellis and now these 3 are a worry as they are costing the Witches dear and a middle order place looks all thats achievable, if cl stays with these 3 under performing riders which if I know him he will without doubt.

I enjoyed finally getting back to Saturday night racing last night after our enforced break due the GP at Cardiff and our Tv match. Last night saw a decent all round performance from Berwick with everyone chipping in . Ben Barkers' class shone through and the Witches have him ( and Morten to a lesser extent ) to thank for their point his efforts helped to keep them in the hunt , also for the visitors it was good to see Risager overcome his past problems at Berwick . A good close meeting with some decent racing and a last heat decider that went our way for a change ,what's not to like ? Personally I'd prefer it if we could claim all the points by heat 14 and remove the nervousness of going into a last heat decider they're great if you're an away fan but not so good for the home fans .

Enjoyable meeting last night,a one where Berwick always held the upper hand though thanks to mainly Barker & Risager Ipswich were well deserving of their points, how good was Barker,as impressive a performance Ive seen at Shielfield for many a year,he won races from the gate and from the back.Barker was well backed up by Risager but a pointless 1st and last ride proved costly.Disapointed in the performance of Leigh Lanham,on a track where hes scored well in previous visits he looked a shadow of that rider.

A workman like performance from the home riders,no absolute stand out rider but no rider let the team down.Good to see Kozza Smith get away with what couldve been a nast crash in Ht7,though I must admit seeing his moves on the track when trying to avoid Tungate and then Starke I think he`d be a wow on the dance floor.

And, by the way, Chris agrees with me :)

Everyone agrees with you.

Spot on,maybe this could be the difference in Berwick finishing well up the league than not.

I agree Barker was superb. Kozza and Robin got out the gate in heat 15, but Barker was past them both after the 4th bend. Kozza didn't make it easy for him either.

I though Matty Wethers was hard done to by Lanham.

It was frightening - and rather bizarre - to see Kozza dancing out of the way of Tungate and Starke who did well to avoid him.

Phew!

Great meeting... love it, I could settle for that every week

Glad meeting me didn't put a dampener on it :)

Yeah Weathers hard done to by Lanham he made the same move on Bellego too i would have loved to see the dirty sod try that on Lee Complin because lee would have kept it wound on. not nice to see Lanham getting slow and resorting to those tactics..
