Premier League Fours - Peterborough 14/07/2013

Recommended Posts

If anyone in the Peterborough area has some up to date music...anything from about 1986 onwards will do, can you bring it to the Showground. It will probably have to be on a cassette though...

Whilst I'm on, 531-535 on the green ticket is the lucky winner of today's meat raffle.

Bit of a long shot but has anybody found a pair of spectacles and a hearing aid?

Hope all riders are ok, friend just txt me to say two more off to hospital..............

What an absolute shambles of a day. Ashamed to say I left early and dont have a clue or care who won! Red hot weather did not need to be dragged out. Now, accidents etc you cant legislate for but G Flint comeback all forgiven, at least he knows how to get a meeting through. Ms Horley is not the person to do that. Surely for a top event an FIM Ref should be allocated? We, these days have more and more of these ridiculous false starts with all back, Ms Horley is the master! Edited by Catch Me If You Can

pity the poor person that won the meat raffle, its been sitting about all day and now it has to endure a few hours trip home in a steaming hot boot of a car..wont be raw , it must be best part cooked in this heat..pull into a service station and get some burger buns and marg. at least you wont go hungry..lol,.

I agree 100% we left early as well first time in 40 odd years of following the sport the Ref was a joke the track staff was clueless on what to do with the track we was all conned to have to pay £2 to park when 48 hours earlier it was a £1 for panthers v stars league meeting . In the end like you didnt care who won only cared that Tungate and Bellego was ok we left just after the crash .

I certainly won't rush back to this event in 2014 if its at Pboro that's for sure

Echo some of the post meeting comments. We too left before the restart. Taking the pi$$ doubling the car park charge, making mugs out of us again. Glad I took my own food and drink (not enough in the circumstances), so I didn't have to give them any more of my hard earned after I'd entered the stadium.

From my position on the first bend it looked like Cook came in very hard on Bellego, unsettled him and forcing him to ride into Tungate. Obviously some will have had a different view of it.

It was quite depressing being among the Bandits fans after the crash, plenty of tears and Bellegos girlfriend right in front of me looking dazed and confused. Not a nice place to be. I saw her chatting to him on the phone with a smile on her face, so perhaps he's not too badly injured.

Too many breaks to make it really entertaining, but it's always harder for me to enjoy a meeting as a neutral.

Hope the three injured riders aren't too badly hurt.

And apart from the costly car parking, entry and programme cost (£26 for a single) and all the ridiculously lengthy delays, without any reasonable explanation to the paying public, 22 of the 28 heats were won from gates 1 and 2. An alternative venue should be awarded this fixture next year in which the gates are more evenly rewarding. Why not let a Premier League club benefit from a "big" day rather than an Elite League club ?

I thought the event was outstanding, The racing certainly made up for the delays and Cooky's move was a similar move that I saw Michael Jepsen Jensen pull last season although their was a huge difference in the standard of riders.

I for one hope the fours is back next year at Peterborough and I'm sure the majority of the crowd feel the same way.

Hope Tungate and Bellego are ok... I personally think Cook was responsible for the crash.
