Premier League Fours - Peterborough 14/07/2013

Whilst I agree rolling averages had to be brought in to stop certain teams cheating. Why not go back to the old system for meetings like this, up to date current averages should mean the best current teams are in the meeting. Same goes for the pairs. Or is that too simple?

too simple!! Or even devise a format where each team is involved and start the meeting earlier.

Hopefully the programme design will be a bit more user friendly this year. The two semis are pre printed, then when the final comes around it takes ages (for those wealthy enough to splash out £4 on a prog) to fill in all the names. Wouldn't it be simpler to just put the names in once, and have a grid going from left to right. I've just done one and it's quite easy, even for a simple Suffolk lad like me.

From Berwick website:

DEFENDING THE ‘FOURS’ TITLE: The New Holland Bandits will defend their Premier League Fours title at the East of England Showground at Peterborough on Sunday (July 14th).

Ricky Ashworth will join the border quartet, replacing Edward Kennett.

The top four riders by average (the riding order will be 1. Kozza Smith, 2. Ricky Ashworth, 3. Robin Aspegren, 4. Matthew Wethers) form the quartet with next in line (David Bellego) in reserve. The New Hollanders will be in Group A on the day – wearing red helmets throughout -- alongside Scunthorpe, Ipswich and Workington.

Group B comprises: Somerset, Edinburgh, Leicester, Newcastle

How about seeding Berwick as last year's winners direct to this year's final and then dividing the remaining 12 teams into 3 groups of 4 with all teams staging a home meeting. The 3 group winners then join the holders in the final.

so berwick need one of their top 4 to have a mare,so the french guy can take a ride.this will eat into at least 2 non productive rides for the bandits before they can use him.. still strong, bur not strong enough.

Doyle will now miss this meeting due to the SWC. Presume Newman will be in (Wonder what they'll do about a reserve with Nielsen and Perry injured).

Knowing the rulebook its probably an EL guest with an average between 5.623 and 6.523

Though if thats a GSA or rolling average that will be up to the management committee to decide,1st heat will start about 2hrs late due to all the arguments.

Seriously it should be a PL rider upto Kyle Newmans ave,or more likely a NL rider
