Shadders
Just had a text from Olly to say he is just out of surgery which he has had last years plate taken out and a new one put in....All went well so hopefully a speedy recovery!!! He posted a photo of himself shortly after surgery on his Twitter account. Gutted for him as he was going so well. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Differing views over the incident. Most (including the ref) saw it as Olly locking up, causing Morris to hit the back wheel, but from a different angle you come to a different conclusion
tocha
An ego bigger than the moon. He wouldn't lower himself Not necessarily the case and could be good news both for the rider and club. Lewis almost walked away from the sport last year citing lack of both fixtures and income. He would come in on an average of 8.59. The stumbling block could be fixture clashes. With Lakeside on a roll and, just now, probably the strongest 1 -7 in the EL, he is an integral part of that set-up so might put aside personal gain for the good of Lakeside's ambition. torpointfanatic22
I have to say I though the track grading last night at Rye was shocking. I think the tractor did more laps than the actual riders. It was crazy almost every heat! As for the meeting, I think both teams had their share of good and bad luck. Cory packing up when comfortably leading, Morris picking up a couple of times and dropping points because of it but Allen's injury and less so Bunyan's injury were the turning points. Allen didn't look like getting beat until that crash so I wish him well. Also I'm not quite sure how the ref allowed Anderson to take the win in heat 2 when he followed Lykke into the final bend fence? Surely both should've gone but hey ho I'll take it

Surely both should've gone but hey ho I'll take it I think the ref may have seen it as Anderson laying it down as he saw Kasper fall, but from my recolection he was a fair way back. Hard to believe that was the same Jake Anderson who struggled so much when he first came over. Much improved. Had a feeling that Plymouth would take the points, but not in that fashion. Surely both should've gone but hey ho I'll take it I couldnt quite believe that either very strange decision... I finally returned to Rry House - as shocked that Uncle didn't call off the meeting with cloud in the sky over the Hoddesden... A desperate meeting - cold, slow , crap track conditions, dust!!! Gutted for Olly and Jason - Very dissappointed in Nelson hope to see him perform better than that - looked unable to ride along side Mellgren. Rob Mear was awful and a shadow of his former self, and Lambert looked so uncomfortable on his bike - look liked a NL rider at best... and to blow away a 10 point lead with 3 races to go was just unbelievable.... Well done to the Plymouth devils!
keithmed
Referee on Saturday was shocking - how can you award a race to a rider who crashed of his own accord in exactly the same place barely a second after the leader (kasper lykke) had crashed? to any person with half a brain that would have to be a double exclusion, And to top it all the Olly Allen exclusion was just as bad (from my view point opposite the start/finish line)- yes Olly locked up after cutting up the inside but he was still on the bike and Morris just hit him! How on earth can he come to the conclusion that Olly caused the race stoppage - had Morris taken evasive action the race would not have even been stopped! Very poor showing from an experienced Referee. :-(
westhamboy66
A club that used to be the envy of the Premier League and a place where away sides feared has now becoming a laughing stock and easy picking for most teams. Injuries have played their part for sure, but he side was doomed from the start as soon as Garrity was named in the 1 to 5 and Simon Lambert was prised away from National League Stoke. Kasper hasn't progressed as hoped and is under huge pressure when he misses the gate, as he often does. Never seen him try the outside line at Rye, more often than not diving inside on the third, which can be risky. The massive win at Plymouth in the League Cup was a false dawn. Recent results have been shocking, except the win at Sheffield, where the home team were in a big slump. We've still got to visit Workington, Edinburgh, Scunthorpe and Newcastle, where I fear we'll see more of what we had at Somerset, a massive thumping. Things have got so bad I even have Berwick fans sympathising what i would say is that some rye fans have got their wish. Back in the good old days of match bonus points we were thumping most teams by thirty points at rye. There were cries of i'm bored with the big wins. Well for certain the days of big wins are long gone replaced by the big defeats such as the ones at somerset. I had planned on visits to places like berwick, Scunthorpe worky and newcastle but its no fun when we are so crap. Amazing how the interest in our season is hanging on when Garrity will be back. The moment he was injured the interest waned

I don't know how you got to so many away meetings mate, I love following us away but it's just so disheartening these days.

Can't put finger on it. If I could I'd go to every away match. The only thing that's stopping me is getting time off work. Even after last Fridays humbling experience I'd go back tomorrow at the drop of a hat if we were riding there. bolly
We have one who's lost interest in the sport and is just going through the motions as far as I can see and one that was never going to set the world alight and now seems to be going backwards. And tonights lottery numbers are Now I think we better keep hold of the rider who is going backwards, he might soon be our No 1 As discussed by Mr Charalambous, Miss Ellis and Mr Booth last Saturday night

tonyd
I'm past caring about the lack of draught beer. I think its time to start worrying about the existence of the club !!!! I dont know , have any insider information or anything like that in fact I am proberly talking out my a**se but if the crowds remain good in kent this season could there be a possible licence switch that will see premier league racing at sittingbourne and national league at Rye next year. ?????? As I say I know nothing but just thinking aloud.
westhamboy66
Tony why would len silver transfer a licence to Kent when an application to simply join the PL would be welcomed. Len silver pays no rent at Rye so his income comes from the paying customer and food and drink, why would he possibly want to decimate that income by switching to NL racing. No the problem for me is that we have lost regular weekly racing due to his interest in Kent which has clearly affected the crowds at Rye. He has made some bad misjudgements of his Rye fans for a couple of years and that is why he is in trouble, now taking his finger off the pulse to assist at Kent has seen further decline at Rye and yes that does cause concern for Rye House Speedway. In the old days Len would have several clubs on the go at the same time, those days are long gone
